Lifelong lover of Pilot V Ball pens: beautiful flowing crisp ink.... downside can leak and water soluble but no deal breaker!
I love these pens; I've been using the V5 extra fine pens for over 15 years; the line is my favorite. Now, be careful, don't leave any of the Pilot pens uncapped - that lovely clear flowing black ink will easily flow onto any fabric or paper nearby. I've had several ruined leather purses and ruined bed comforters due to leakage.... but no other pen delivers the crisp flowing writing I love. Another con is that the ink is extremely water soluble, although that means it is a more environmentally friendly ink IMO. It's as good as a fancy fountain pen without the stress/weird cartridges/ink well. The package says that they currently use 81.6% recycled content. Now, the question is: how much of that is post consumer content? Are they using raw recyclables like water bottles to make the pens, or simply using plastic that they would already recycle that is produced as a byproduct of the factory (you have to watch for that with paper... always look for POST CONSUMER content.) So anyway, I have no idea if these pens are actually more "sustainable" but would like to think so. The feel and look of the pen is updated and cooler than the extra fine V5 ball pens. Absolute great price on here.... go get some!!

you have not written until you've used this pen
Whether you are a writer or a sketch artist, this is a pen to add to your must-have list! I first encountered this pen when I was in high school. I was at my dad's office and picked it up to mark up my college application, and something odd happened. I couldn't put it down. He begrudgingly gave it to me to take home. And I went mad in my sketch book, thought up new story ideas just to have an excuse to write, recopied old lists...anything and everything for an excuse to use this pen. My dad and I took to giving each other boxes of these pens for christmas and birthday gifts, but then another odd thing happened...the pens were apparently discontinued. We both searched desperately at Staples and other office supply chains, but nothing. Every once in awhile, one or the other of us would run across a box and offer a few to each other. I considered writing a letter to Pilot, but I had no pens left and no inspiration left to write. Then Amazon came along and I rediscovered my old favorite pen! I bought two boxes, one for me and one for my dad (if he's lucky) and you should too. These pens are simply an incredible writing tool.

Excellent Pens!
These pens are excellent, in my opinion, because they write any time you pick them up, as long as there is ink in the chamber. The other thing is that the tip is so fine, there is no leakage of the ink, or streaks left behind. One of my patients used these pens for daily use, and I got attached to them, because they write so well. This is the type of pen you can use to write very tiny manuscript or print, and still be able to discern what is written (that's if the writing is not as lousy as mine), or you can write as big as you want... except you'll waste the ink faster. I bought these before for me, and this time, I purchased them as a gift for a person who works with clients in the banking business-- she also loved them! Besides this, the pens look elegant, the cap doesn't come off easily, so there's very little chance that your clothing will be ruined (i.e., for those who place pens in their shirt/blouse/scrub pocket). Highly recommended!

BEWARE! Not the same pen and quality.
This is NOT the same pen as http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C8FWNY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1I couldn't see a difference between this and the former, which I've been buying for years, other than it didn't have a green color on the shaft, so I purchased this as it was slightly cheaper. MISTAKE. This is an inferior quality pen. The ink doesn't come out smoothly, it's constructed differently, and I don't like it.The name and description of the pen are identical.

Best pen for writing by hand on blank paper
What comes out of the tip is real ink; wet stuff, not some ball point smeary goo that never dries. You have touch, flow, control, opacity, a visible ink supply no fooling around with leaky nibs or messy refills from ink bottles. The point size selection is not as versatile as a rapidograph, but this is the only pen I even consider for writing in small spaces, e.g. check registers, personal notebooks, back pocket note pad, etc. They're also good for drawings and doodles. If you go on an airplane flight with one of these in your pocket you may want to be careful when you get back on the ground and first open it. I recommend first wiping down the grip and tip area with a facial tissue. Sometimes you may want to do the same with the interior of the cap, but usually its not much of a problem. Its nothing compared to the old fountain pens with a soft rubber bladder.Overall a great pen. Buying them by the dozen gets you a better price, plus, you always have access to some spares if one runs out.

Writes well, but runs out of ink.
I am a student, and I take lots of notes throughout the day. As such, I was determined to use some decent pens, in hopes of saving myself from excessive hand cramps. These pens definitely do the trick - they write smoothly with a nice flow, and are comfortable in the hand. They also have a sleek, balanced look, which is a great bonus! There are only two downsides:1. The ink bleeds through the paper a little bit, so if you wish to take notes on both sides, you may want to invest in notebooks with slightly thicker paper.2. It seems that the ink runs out fairly quickly, compared to other pens I've tried. This may be due to the quantity released when writing.Otherwise, they are stylish and effective, and I will be using them for a long time to come. I would recommend them both to students and to professionals who sign documents, as they lend a nice touch to any writing.
