Q: Can this pump be used for watering the garden

Yes, it is very good for watering the garden. That is exactly what i use it for. But it is a 1000w motor so suits a big garden. It also generates a 40m head, being designed as a well pump, so may produce more pressure than you need. If you dont plan to pump out of a well or over a long distance then a lower wattage, lower head pump might suit better. 10m horizontal is roughly equivalent to 1m vertical.

Q: Does the pump automatically cut out when the pressure increases e.g. if a valve on the delivery pipe is closed.

Q: Will this pump fit and work in a 20cm drain

The pump is listed as being 170mm wide so although it will fit down the drain, that wont leave enough room for the float switch to operate as it should. This means the float wont drop with the water lever making it run dry causing damage to the pump if left unattended. Therefore we do not recommend this. kind regards Draper Tools

Yes, it comes with a 15m cable and plug fitted - no wiring at all.
