Love of My Life: The Best of Dan Hill

After cleaning up my music collection the other week, I stumbled across this cd again. I hadn't heard it in a while, so I put it on and remembered how great it is. Dan Hill has a superb voice and this music is really pretty. There are so many good songs here and great duets too.One of my favourite songs on here is Carmelia - it's gorgeous, and I also love the duet with Celine Dion (Wishful Thinking) and one of his biggest hits, Never Thought (That I Could Love). He's definately known for his ballads, and there are heaps here.The first song, Seduces Me, was once remade by Celine and it's the only song I don't like (when sung by him - she does it amazingly), and all the rest are stunning classic songs. There is Sometimes When We Touch and Can't We Try. If you listen right through till the end of the cd, you realise exactly how many hits he's had and the reason why he's such a good career as a singer and a brilliant songwriter. The other thing I really love about this cd is the liner notes inside; for each song he goes into some detail about how the song came to be and that's something you don't get a lot in music at all - something a real fan loves to see.I really love this album. It's more for people who love power ballads and 'soft rock' music. He's such a great singer and I highly recommend this album.

Good but I remember more of their songs or I think I do. Good cd.

I have always liked Dan Hill's music. This is a greatest hit collection and it certainly does not disappoint. My wife loves "Sometimes When We Touch".

This album makes come a recollection to mind as one of the people which listen to the song of the Dan hill and grow.It is full of the tunes which there is no means which 1 tune will remove, are good.

Greatest Hits...Dan Hill has a great voice

Not as many memorable songs as I recall.

Was brought as Christmas gift and hasn’t been stopped playing yet. Definitely worth buying if you like that sort of music

Dan Hill escaped me first time round, as both an artist and a songwriter,apart from the lovely Sometimes When We Touch. So I was curious.My conclusion ? like Dr Who these tracks do travel back in time, with their classic 70's /80's production making them slightly repetitive.Having said that Dan Hill is an excellent songwriter and their are some nice tunes on this album.Makes good background while you're doing other things.

Have played it several times already - didn't know many of the tracks but really like it! Great if you like artists like Rupert Holmes, Dan Fogelberg or Christopher Cross.

I was a little disappointed with this cd. It was not how I remember him. There is nothing wrong with the cd or sound etc but I guess my taste has changed. Thank you Amazon for having the artists available. Good job.
