Q: What kind of wood is this

Q: Can all types of hamster fit in it?

The holes on my tunnel had a diameter of 1.25" (or a bit less). This would NOT be big enough for a Syrian hamster. I am waiting to see if my Russian dwarf can fit through it, as it's smaller than advertised.

Q: Did they spray any weird chemicals on it, or is the wood 100% natural?

Hi! It seems chemical free to me, no odd odor or anything. We have two hamster cages and have one of these tubes in each cage. Both hamsters seem to like it. Neither hamster has been sick or anything, we've had them in over a month. The texture was a bit odd (to me anyway) almost spongy a little (I hope that makes sense).

Q: Has anyone tried using this in an aquarium?

I used it for gerbils, but it’s natural wood, so you could probably use it in a freshwater tank. I wouldn’t use it in my saltwater tank, though. It might release some tannins into the water, making it a little brown-ish, though. It’d be cool little place for fish to hide and sleep in
