Sound relaxation machine by wellcare - naturcare white noise tinnitus sleep aid

I was sceptical about this gadget's quality and mindful of the Lone Star reviews, but it's turned out just fine. The sound is clear, the 'natural' sounds (sea-shore, birds, forest, brook, rain, heart-beat, and, of course, plain old white-noise) are life-like, and in my opinion there are enough of them to fit into whatever mood you're in. It appears that some people want a system to drown out the row from inconsiderate neighbours, but I have to report that this probably isn't going to be loud enough unless you're right next to it; it's for background, relaxing serenity as opposed to drowning out unwanted noise. I bought mine to take my mind off horrible and chronic insomnia inducing tinnitus after a serious head-injury and I have to say that I suspect that this gadget is going to be about as good as it gets in helping me to nod off. I just hope I'm not going to need it forever - I intend to get better! It's been pointed out by other reviewers that the thing eats batteries, but I managed to find a power adaptor in my 'Man Drawer' (also available on here for about a fiver) which works fine, so I can't comment on battery life (though I may update this review later when I've timed how long 4 X AA Duracells last). The thing also has a half-hour timer, so it's not as if you have to leave it on all night - unless, of course, you want to, in which case just switch it to the 'on' position and leave it there. PS: If it goes belly up for whatever reason I shall amend this review accordingly. A constant problem with items from China, it seems, is that the quality control prior to leaving the factory occasionally leaves a lot to be desired and getting one that's 100% is sometimes a roll of the dice; mine, however, is fine. One last thing: I received it two days after ordering. Not bad! PS: Having used this device for three nights, I have to say that it's just what the ENT doctor ordered. I set it on the half-hour timer and I'm out like a light without having to re-set it. However, there is one aspect that some people may not find ideal: with the exception of the heart-beat effect, there is invariably a discernible white-noise background, which some users may find either superfluous or irritating. It is, however, ideal for my own needs, seeing as I want it purely for sleep inducement, so the white-noise is actually an advantage. To summarise: for my own needs and with my tinnitus, it's ace.

Highly recommend buying this... My husband and I decided to buy one of these to help us settle our baby boy (11weeks old) at night. He has a Ewan sheep white noise but it turns off after 20mins so he'll be just settling and you'd have to rush to turn the sheep back on before he woke!! This machine is BRILLIANT!!! I love that you can keep it on all the time or have 30minute timer. I also like how it can run on batteries or mains. You have to purchase the adaptor separately if you want to run it on mains. I also think it's not a good design that you have to remove the batteries if you want it to run on mains. It'd be better if you can keep batteries in so if had power failure it could then continue to run on batteries. We only used it on batteries for one night as we waited for adaptor to arrive. The batteries lasted fine for that night, but I don't know how long they'd last if you always ran it on batteries. We also have it switched on permanently over night so not tried the timer function yet. I don't know if it's helped much with settling our baby. But it does help make movement to not seem so loud. Every time I got out of bed I'd disturb our son whereas now I don't. However I love the machine for myself!!! I have tinnitus and I am a light sleeper. I've slept a lot better since having this machine on all night!!! The birds in the morning don't wake up and disturb me anymore and I can block out my husbands snoring as I concentrate on the noise we set to play!! My husband says he's found it really helps him sleep too! So we only get woken by our son now and can settle back quicker to sleep ourselves!!!!! We use the sea and the rain noise settings the most. We don't like the brook as it makes you want to wee! We have also said that once our son goes into his own room if he needs the machine to help him sleep we will have to purchase a second one for ourselves.

Bought the lectro version for a friend and tried it which was 3 times the price but this works just as well , am convinced and relieved that there's something out there for annoying back noise and noise .Definitely worth a go, batteries do seem to last a while or else can get adaptor.The rain setting doesn't make you see all night either INCASE you're worries!!!

Arrived very quickly. The switch was not fitted, I had to unscrew the 'ball' to fix it in as I didn't want to have to send it all back. The sounds are not as natural as I expected and are brief. However this may be a tinnutis therapy so not sure if this is a fault of the product or intentional. It is good in that when it turns itself off there is no loud clunk and it does seem to help with getting to sleep without focussing on the tinnutis.

Love this little sound machine. Had a different type before for my 1 year old twin little girls but it ran off battery's and was set to shut off every 20mins so they was waking up several times a night. Since buying this they are sleeping through the night and even going to bed on there own! I brought a separate adapter so no more going through battery's every couple of days. So happy with this product it has completely changed my life and must be the best thing I have ever brought.

Makes a high pitch squealing noise when on it's unbearable and not catcall relaxing even with the volume turned up I can here the shrill !! Emailed seller several times no response very very poor !!!

Very good, it works! The reel is a bit short so sound repeats a bit too regularly but it it cheap and effectve. Iwas not aware that the power unit was not included so bought separately.
