Super Box with 7pcs Honey Flowing Frames

So far so good. The dovetail joints at the corners were a bit tough to get together, but very tight once connected. Some pieces were not the same as what is in the manual(knobs and latches), but it's easy to figure out where they go. Small latches are two per window cover, long skinny latch is to cover the removable key hole cover(long strip) and larger flow frame access plate. Had to predrill the holes on the sides of the the box to install each latch, which isn't too much of a pain. Just make sure to align each latch before you drill so that once installed the covers will be secured or easily removed by spinning the latch. They put strips inside to space the frames from the walls so you dont have to install spacer screws. Overall for the price, I am very happy with it. Just have to see how it holds up outside. Very pleased. Box fit together very tight which is good to keep ants out etc. Be patient putting together working the dove tails in from the sides. Some are square so best to lay out to make sure you got the right matches on pieces. Like a puzzle. Mine had predrilled holes for the latches. This is my fourth honey flow box. I made one from a regular brood box too. I had two shipments. First the honey flow frames arrived and then the box a few days later. I used screws all around so it will last forever even though the fit was so good it doesn't really need it. Very pleased

Yeah, the inner parts work Ok, but the woodwork is a mess. However, I buy hive components from MannLake sometimes, and their manufacturing quality isn’t great either. I often need to break out the router, sander, and many other woodworking tools to get it up to my standards.You can buy just the frames and tubes and key themselves and the. Do your own woodwork, which I recommend if you are a little handy and have the tools to do it. Otherwise, your left to the “craftsman” who built the box.

Not of the quality of the original but not bad either. And way cheaper. The original is just out of my price range. We’ll see how the bees like it in the spring!

UPDATE: Company was very responsive and sent a replacement out right away. This one, while not perfect, could at least be put together.None of the mitered cuts match up. Not ONE!!! I've got keyhole cuts supposed to match with square cuts, and vice versa. I couldn't even "fake" up a fix. Got several woodworking friends to take a look and they all said, "just burn it, It's never gonna work". This is my second Auto hive purchase. The first one was a breeze. If they offer reasonable customer support, I'll raise my rating, but I doubt it, guess I'm just out of the bills.
