Easy to germinate!
Somewhere I read they are hard to germinate. I had 100 seeds and only needed a few plants so I planted about 20 if them all sorts of ways after soaking. In self watering plastic pots with potting soil in a bright but sunless window (heavy soil that was soaking wet and wouldn't dry!) In big pots out in the yard (in a warm February in Houston but with some nights in the low 40's) and directly in a garden that I thought might be getting too much rain. I'm not sure if any failed to germinate! They are all on their second set of leaves and I'm thinning them. I also read castor seeds are pretty viable after 1 year so I'll use the other 80 next year I guess :-) I'm thinking, though, they are a mix of varieties since some have red stems and some green and some of the seeds were solid dark red while others were spotted. I'm going to keep a pair of each in each place I want a plant and pull one up later.

Plant more seeds than needed
The package was oily but had lots of seeds. Instructions for planting were good. Due to the weather being cooler than usual they took a long time to germinate, I actually thought they were dead seeds. But when the weather warmed up they germinated and are taking off! I planted 50 of them only about 20 actually came up. This could be due to critters, the soil or the amount of rain and unexpected cold weather. Now we’ve had several unexpected 80 to 90 degree days and they are growing like crazy!! I’m saying this to say that the seeds themselves seemed healthy , they are temperamental though.

ONE plant out of a pack of castor bean seed
Seed looked nice and professionally packaged. Maybe I planted too deep using a dibble stick but I only got one plant above ground in an approx. 4' x 15' plot

Rare to find
I have been searching for 2 years, trying to find TRUE African Zanzibarensis seeds. They're not like regular castor bean plants. They are massive and incredible. These seeds fit the bill 100%. I haven't grown these seeds yet but they look very viable. Fat, black seeds make a true Zanzibar Zanzibarensis! I'm so impressed!

Arrived on time
This item has more seeds than the last one I bought. This time I am going to follow the instructions and hopefully they'll grow. Last time I didn't, and they didn't, so...

Not all seeds come to plant...
I got 3 plants out of the 5 planted. The look good and healthy. I did order this seeds because I was told it will help with vole population control. This is still to be determined.

Still growing in pods for now.
Will update laterUpdate: I have planted around 15 seeds. And only 2 came up. Guess that’s why you get so many seeds?
