Baldwin Estate 0102.003 Colonial Knocker in Polished Brass, 6.5"x3.5"

This is a very sturdy attractive door knocker and enhances the appearance of our entry. I also put a lifetime polished brass kickplate on the bottom of the door. I have moved into new homes on 2 occasions where the builder has put ordinary brass finish doorknobs on the exterior doors, and I have had to replace all of them within a year or two due to tarnishing which cannot be cleaned off. I replaced them with Baldwin's "lifetime" polished brass knobs, and 13 years later, they still look new. They have never needed any polish. So I feel confident this knocker will also last as long as I live here. The lifetime finish is worth the extra money!My only complaint is that the knocker makes an annoying clank every time someone comes in and shuts the door, but maybe they all do that. This is the first time I have had a door knocker. It is interesting that nearly everyone uses the doorbell instead, but I bought it for appearance, anyway.

Perfect gift for my daughter’s beautiful front door.

This looks nice, is the size it says, and is solid brass. I bought one a year ago from Baldwin that had a smoother finish--but was double the price. This is very good, but some small imperfections show if you look close. I know mounting these with two screws from the inside is tricky, so I used only the top one from the inside. Before mounting it, I drilled a hole (from the back side) through the wide part near the bottom, and screwed into the door from the outside. The knocker handle covers the screw completely, and my door only has one small hole on the inside.

My EX took the one from my front door when moving out. I initially did not notice it was missing. I remembered the original one I had was a Baldwin model so I went looking and compared measurements. I found this one and it was almost the exact same design. The big thing was the mounting holes in the door matched perfectly because I did not want to have to drill the wooden door again. Quality is exactly what I would expect from Baldwin and it fit perfectly on my old door. Thank you.

Very well finished polished brass

This a beautiful door knocker. It looks and feels very high quality. I bought it after reading other peoples reviews praising it. I bought it to replace an old door knocker that had been on the door when I moved to this house. I needed the screws to line up with the holes already there and this one filled the bill. I just removed the old door knocker and quickly screwed in the new one. I believe that there were 4 inches between the screws and it worked perfectly the first time. I would highly recommend this Colonial Door Knocker. It looks great!!

Doesn't need much explanation! It's Baldwin and they are a class act. Their products are timeless, durable, they never wear out! This door knocker was the missing jewelry on my front door. It looks fantastic and never tarnishes! I would definitely recommend!

The knocker came in a plain plastic bag. No packaging and absolutely no documentation. There was no warranty or identification to indicate it was in fact manufactured by Baldwin Brass which should have a lifetime warranty -- or so I thought. I could very well be wrong on the warranty...But, the most annoying thing was that there was no template for drilling the holes in our front door to install the knocker. So, we carefully had to diagram where the screws from the back side of the door would meet the screw holes on the back of the knocker.Brass knocker was received in a very timely fashion -- typical of shipping from Amazon. No problem there.I am only giving the knocker a 3 as I would have expected a box with documentation & a drilling template. The knocker itself seems lovely. Time will tell if it stands up to the elements like our Baldwin Door Handle.
