UnderCover SwingCase Truck Bed Storage Box | SC102P | Fits 2004 - 2012 Chevy/GMC Colorado/Canyon Passenger Side

I purchased this for my 2011 Chevy Colorado. This is just what I needed to remove junk I had stored behind my back seat. The item is well constructed. I have a bed liner and did have to remove pieces of the bed liner in order to attach self tapping screws. I marked the cuts with chalk and then used a Dremmel to cut thru the bed liner. I wish it were a little larger but based on the size of my truck bed, I guess it works fine. But its a little pricey. There's some cheaper brands (made in China) but I prefer to buy American. Perhaps, I'll get another for the passenger side of the bed. The only issue I have is that the locking top cover unhinged itself from where it was mounted. Engineers need to come up with a better idea of attaching the hinges. However, I was able to push the hinge back into its mounting slot.

Very easy to install, if you have a bed liner under 1/2 an inch in thickness you do not need to cut anything, would predrill the holes for the bolts using a 9/64” drill bit though

I bought this for my 2021 Canyon AT4 and let me tell you, it is amazing! The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. It fits underneath my gator soft rollup bed cover with plenty of room. I really like that if I need my entire bed, I can remove the whole thing in seconds and just set it inside the truck. Also, if you're familiar with these modern mid-size trucks, you know that the tailgate and bed height is the same (if not higher in certain trims such as the AT4 or ZR2) than their full time siblings. I'm average height (5'10") so reaching over the bed rail to reach into the bottom of a box to grab something odd shaped or heavy can be quite frustrating, so the fact this swings out makes it extremely easy to pack and unpack from the tailgate.

I love the box- fills in dead space for storage and the swing out aspect is awesome. A couple of things would have been helpful that are not in the instructions: Like using a 7/8" nut driver to secure the 6 "self tapping" screws. Mark the holes and drill a smaller pilot hole. Use a slightly smaller drill bit than the threads on the screw. As noted in the instructions, the frame must be 11 7/8" from the top of the bed rail and drilling the first hole for the upper left frame hole will help keeping it level. IF you are going to install this with a plastic bedliner, I positioned the bracket in place and used a silver sharpie pen to outline the bracket on the liner. Be generous with the space you are marking for the bracket but there is no need to mark / cut more than an inch in all directions around that bracket. (It is hidden by the box) I moved the liner (Its just 2 screws) back a few feet to make cutting into it easier and cut it with a sawsall metal cutting blade on a handle. Turns out, a sharp box knife razor actually works fine if you follow your first "cut line" several times. It does not take too long to cut through the bedliner. Its a good idea to use a scrap from the bedliner to place between the bedliner and truck bed to keep the razor from scratching into the bed paint. The instructions say 75 lbs max in that box. It is a strong box but I do not think I would put half that weight in there. Maybe straps, rope, bungees, gloves, - you know- all the junk that previously littered the back of the truck or was packed away in some inconvenient location. Great box. I'd buy again.

This product fit on my 22 Canyon even though Amazon flagged it as not fitting. Product arrived in a timely manner and was as described. Install was relatively easy but it would have been nice to have an extra hand to hold the bracket up while fastening it. About a week after Install I noticed a couple of the screws had come loose so I installed washers and nuts to the back of each screw. The added washers and nuts provide a lot more rigidity to the bracket and I highly recommend the extra time and money for piece of mind.

Really nice quality case. Easy instructions but unfortunately I had to return. I have a tri fold tonneau cover that I lock into place with clip and metal brackets at the back of the bed. The swing case couldn't be installed with this system so be mindful of this before ordering. Easy return and good quality hence my 5 stars .

Great product. However there, it is sagging and a little bouncy/flimsy when open. I will need to figure out a way to stiffen it up and take out the sag

My Colorado is an extended cab version with very little rear seat storage. I like to carry tow rope, chains, booster cables, hitch receiver, etc. This swing out storage box holds all these items with room to spare. It was easy to install. What I really like is how easy it is to remove from the truck box in case you need to carry a large item. A good feature is that besides the locking lid, you can lock the box in place ( no swing out ) and there is another lock to prevent lifting it off it’s mount. I am very happy with this product.

Holds 2 jugs of windshield washer fluid with room to spare.Keeps the clutter out of the cab of the truck.I cut a stick to match the measurement on instructions makesthe install quick.
