I have been taking probiotics for years, although in hindsight I tend be sproradic and go through phases where I don't take them at all. I used to think the Mercola probiotics were great, though once they split the same dose into two pills, for some reason the two pills did not seem to be as powerful as the previous single pill. So I went in search of something else. A few months ago, I had a dreadful gastric event, the symptoms of which match the Noro Virus, which you can read about at the CDC website. After this I needed to replenish my digestive tract with probiotics and i bought the strongest one I could find at GNC, which worked very well, then I tried Healthy Origins but did not notice much difference. According to Dr. Oz good poop does not smell so I use that as a test of effectiveness, which leads me to Flor Assist. What I find particularly appealing about Flor Assist is that it is double encapsulated which means it has better than a snowball's chance in hell of surviving your stomach reaching your intestines intact and work to maximum effect. I can say that though the effect is subtle, it seems to be noticeably better than Healthy Origins, and supplements from Life Extension tend to be of a good quality. I have been buying their supplements for years. It does pass the smell test, and is good for if you sometimes feel gassy or bloated. Doctors will tell you that as your colon goes so goes your body, so it literally is vitally important to get probiotics especially as the American diet is very starchy and sugary, which means that if you eat these types of foods you are feeding the bad bacteria, rather than stimulating the good. I definitely will be buying FlorAssist again, but my advice to you is to experiment and shop around, and find some way of noticing what differences you experience with different brands. My blood sugar readings have been high of late and my cholesterol levels, so I will be using probiotics permanently now as an essential part of my health program, so I want the very best. I find a good way of assessing the effectiveness of probiotics is to notice what notice eg less gassiness at both ends, less bloating, considerably less smell or almost no smell at the other end. What I am hoping for now that I am testing my blood glucose levels regularly is less glucose and less cholesterol. If you're like me the best advice I can give is to try it, and shop around until you find what works best for you. Your good health demands it. I think you will like it.

I just got mine, haven't started taking them yet. This is not so much a review as it is an observation. Photos of what seem to be faulty pills in previous reviews had me a little concerned at first when mine looked the same. Then I remembered that these are encased in 2 capsules, allowing the probiotic to survive it's trip through stomach acid to the intestines where it's needed. If you look closely, you'll notice there's a smaller green capsule inside a larger clear capsule. Note to Life Extension, you might include that detail in your description of the product.

This product seems really good. I like the double seal and it does dissolve well.

So far so good. I know my gut is messed and out of whack up from antibiotics. I took two because well wanted to clear out the bad by starting off with a bang. Ooof did I feel crappy last night, dizzy, headache, tummy feeling bad. As of this afternoon I’m starting to feel so much better and got to say I feel really good energy wise. Better than I have in quite a long time. Be prepared for bathroom visits if your gut isn’t used to this.

Love, love, love! I started taking this last year when I had a chronic pain issue flaring up. At the times I was basically a walking, legal heroin addict. The pain pills did a number on my stomach. My boss had suggested I start using these to help with my issues. I could not believe what a difference one pill a day made. No more bloating, stomach pains and I was able to be "regular" again. Luckily, I was able to stop taking my pain medication and thus stopped taking these pro-biotics. Well, that was a mistake. Within a few months of not using these pills I just felt, off. I mentioned this to my boss and he immediately suggested I start using these pills again. Guess what? I am feeling fabulous! Oh, and ladies, can I tell you some TMI? I have not had a yeast infection in 2 years I've been using this product on and off. So if that is an ongoing issue of yours, I suggest you add this bad boy to your vitamin ritual. In short, I love them and suggest them to everyone I know who has any type of stomach issue or needs some "good bacteria". Two thumbs up!
