Life saver after experiencing a chemical burn
My doctor recommended the Aquaphor Healing Ointment for a chemical burn I was experiencing. The chemical burn caused moderate to severe itching & burning. Aquaphor Healing ointment gave immediate.relief!! I was so thankful. It is great for these type of issues. Be aware that it doesn’t heal these type of burns immediately, but it definitely provides relief to allow wounds to heal over time. This ointment also softens skin which mitigates significant scarring.I love this ointment & now also use it on dry itchy skin!!

Like Vasoline but thicker.
My dermatologist recommended it. Like vasoline, but substantially thicker. Takes about 10 min to soak into the skin--so do NOT put on and drive or your steering wheel gets slippery. Skin feel good once it is absorbed.

Our "go-to" for chapped lips and as a protector against chlorine and salt that aggravates our eczema-prone son
Finding the right lip balm and moisturizers for our highly allergenic, 10-year old son (with eczema) is challenging at best. This coupled with living in an extremely dry and cold climate is enough to send us over the edge. We barely get through a Wyoming winter with our lips still intact. We've been using Aquaphor for years. It was first recommended to us as a good moisturizer at National Jewish Hospital during a 2-week long eczema program. It didn't agree with our son's skin during long-term use. It caused hives due to lack of breathability. It is thick and ointment like. It's great for sealing in moisture but doesn't allow skin to breath and sweat well. We did, however, find that it's the favorite in the house in terms of lip treatment. It hasn't healed my son's issues, but it does provide him with instant relief and helps things to stay somewhat under control around his mouth. Its smooth and spreads well, unlike other ointments. We literally have a tube of this in every cabinet, every car, and on every counter top. We use the small, pocket-size ones and the 1.75 squeeze one religiously. I don't like the tub. It harbors bacteria from dirty fingers and caused some problems for a while until we threw it away. Excellent for the chapped lips and as a protectant against chlorine or salt water pools that may aggravate your skin. Just apply over aggravated area before jumping in. We used this in the ocean for snorkeling and it really helped. We removed it immediately after and it didn't cause hives for my son that time.
