Q: Would this be safe to use on the engine area of a car, safe for electrical?

I have used it in the engine compartment of my car and have not seen any adverse effects.

Q: Any down side to using on fishing gear (rod, reel, braided line)?

I do and haven't had any problems. It has Teflon in it so can make things slick if not rinsed well. Only thing I had that I attributed to using it on spinning gear is my braided line began to spin on the spool. The entire length of it. It had never done that before and I figured the Teflon had penetrated sufficiently to slicken the spool. Redid my attachment to the spool and more cautious now with my spool knots. IMO it's a good practice to use SO on all your gear including tackle boxes, electronics, mechanical items, etc.

Q: I fish in saltwater would this product be good to spray down boat trailer axle and hub area parts to help prevent salt corrision?
