Modiphius Star Trek Adventures - Gamma Quadrant

I'm not a big fan of Modiphius' game system (I get what they were going for and appreciate it a lot, but it's too "meta" for my taste), but I really enjoy their "fluff". That said, I picked this up not expecting too much. I mean, what do we fans really know about the Gamma Quadrant other than The Dominion?Well, turns out this book is more than just a Gamma Quadrant sourcebook. In many ways, it sets the background for adventures during the middle of the Dominion War. So, not only do we learn about the Gamma Quadrant, but we learn more about Dominion allies, including the Son'a! There's also a nice section on the Kzinti!! And, for you die-hard FASA Star Trek fans (and/or fans of some Trek novelist that envision this race in a... different way), the Kinshaya!!Way to go, Modiphius!

So, I just got this and read it, and I am seriously disapointed! If you have watched the Star Trek DS9 TV series, you have about 85% of this book: there is almost NO new information here. Also, this book is marketed as a roleplay tool, but there is very little RP items here, not even any "scenarios" to play out (like so many other RP books have). The technical graphics are ones that are regularly used in the Star Trek universe, so nothing unique there either, sadly. Also these pictures seem to be just sporadically posted throughtout the book, none seem tied to the articles on the pages they are posted to, which is odd. So for just 80 pages its $25?! Not worth it!
