The best price! Medium Qualtiy! I do not regret this purchase. Dependable Vendor in England.
Jalpur agar is perhaps the most inexpensive agar powder that one can get online. The same product by the same vendor sells is available at e-bay with similar cost. I purchased via e-bay. The vendor's service was good. And it was delivered quicker than anticipated although it was from England to the USA. (international shipment) It was well packed. And this vendor is trustworthy. The package seems to be in Thai Language. So perhaps this product, made in China, was to be sold for Thai people. Thai people loves agar desserts. As a Japanese who also loved agar desserts, the quality of the agar powder is B-grade, compared to Japanese and Korean agar powders. The purity of the agar is the problem. There is slight 'bitter' taste when this dessert was made with simply sugar and water added. When it is flavored with fruit, liquor, coffee, cocoa, etc., this bitterness will be not noticeable. Also, if you add a lot of sugar, then this bitterness would be not noticeable. And I have extra-super-sensitive tongue, thus normal people would not notice this bitterness. Chinese standard in food industries is lower than Japan or South Korea. Therefore, one should expect inferiority, and the super-low price would make up for the inferiority. Thus I am happy with this purchase. For compliment for this cheap product, although it is the cheapest, the quality of the agar is slightly better than NOW brand's agar powder. The price is much less, and the quality is definitely up to American Standard. To conclude, if you have super-sensitive tongue, you might want to buy Korean or Japanese agar powder, although it would be expensive. If you don't want to spend a lot of money for agar powder, Jalpur agar (from England), is definitely great deal. If you flavor this with coffee, cocoa, ginger, cinnamon, or mint type naturally bitter flavor, then you would not feel bitterness at all.
