Gelly Roll Moonlight 10 Pack, 06 Fine point, Earth & Jewel Tone Colors, Opaque Gel Pens, Creamy Smooth Ink, Writes on Dark Paper

Love these pens! The color shows up on any background color. I got these for scrapbooking and journaling and I just love the color palette and how it fits my muted rainbow/pastel colors theme.

I run back to these pens every time I need new stationary. They flow well, and they are very vibrant. I usually use bright colored pens while studying to help me focus because it absorbs into my mind better that way, and these work great! They lasted about a year and a half the last time I got a pack, so they last fairly long and they dry quickly. For how much they are, you definitely get your money’s worth. Couldn’t reccomend these more.

This is the first time I've been inspired enough by a product to write a review. I've been in search for the best gel ink pen for weeks and have purchased several packs of the cheaper sets, but none peform as well as the Sakura Gelly Rolls. Here are the things I was looking for in a gel pen: 1. Color Saturation 2. Color Brightness 3. Consistency of flow of ink. 4. Metallics and Neon colors that will show when used on black paper. While other less expensive sets of gel pens had reviews that made claims their pens met my criteria, none have the quality in all 4 categories that the Sakura Gelly Roll pens have. Colored ink of any sort has to have some amount of pigma to create an opaque coverage. The more pigma an ink has, the more opaque it will be. With less expensive sets, there is less pigma in the ink. The problem I had with all of them was the lack of smooth coverage, especially on black paper, with metallics and other color schemes that should have shown brightly on black paper, and claimed that they would. They did not. I would have to draw over the same line repeatedly to get the saturation necessary to be visible on a black surface. If you are coloring, this might not be an issue, but I use my pens to draw line patterns and write on colored paper. The need to repeatedly draw over the same line just to get the ink to show ruins the picture. That's what leaves visible scratch marks on the surface of the area covered in ink. With Sakura Gelly Rolls, one pass with the pen leaves an amazingly brilliant stroke of color on your paper, including black card stock. There was no need to add layers, which in the process eats up your ink, to get opaque coverage on paper. I bought the Moonlight set, and both sets of Metallics, all of them are gorgeous colors that stand out on the surface of the paper. The ink does not dry and become a faded version of the initial stroke, which happens with the cheaper brands due to the lack of pigment and results in the need to go over and over a line just to get it to show, which then in returns leaves scratchy marks on the surface of the ink. Don't waste your money on the cheap sets if you want to create art with your Gelly Roll pens. They are well worth the cost. I will never buy a different brand of gel ink pens. Sakura Gelly Rolls are the absolute best on the market.

These pens have changed my life as an artist. They are smooth on the paper and very durable. The size is perfect for holding. I find these very easy to use. I will buy them in the future.

I bought the Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight 10 Pack (06 Fine Point – Earth & Jewel Tones) expecting them to truly stand out on black paper, as advertised. Unfortunately, that was a big disappointment. On dark or black paper, the colors do not pop nearly as much as expected. There are other brands on the market that perform much better on dark surfaces. However, on light and white paper, these pens work very well. The ink flows smoothly, the colors are pretty, and the overall quality is good for that purpose. Because of that, I’d recommend them only for light paper projects. The price is more affordable compared to some premium brands, which is a plus. Still, if your main goal is to use gel pens on black or dark paper, I strongly suggest choosing another Japanese brand instead. Overall: great for light paper, not impressive for dark paper — that’s why I gave it 4 stars.

These are the only pens I’ve been using since I discovered them at the UCSB student store over 20 years ago. The ink is vibrant, the colors are amazing, and there is no other pen that write as smoothly.

Can't go wrong with Gelly Rolls. I absolutely love these colors against black paper and the ink flows smooth.

These are STUNNING! I tried them on black card stock and regular white copy paper. Obviously because they’re gel, they will smudge when fresh but they dry quickly and don’t smudge after that. Also they don’t bleed through AT ALL, which is rare to find with many pens. I love them so so much and I will ABSOLUTELY repurchase whenever these go empty.

I don’t bother buying any other brand of gel pens for my art anymore because these are simply the best, gold standard! Vibrant colours, great consistency of lines, the opaque and sparkly ones work fantastic on black paper. The fluorescents show up wonderfully under black light. Definitely staples in my collection of treasured art supplies.

all the colour shades you need, good flow, good quality, cheap. I use it for accents when colouring. They are super easy and work great.
