Matte Perfection Controls Oil for 24-48 Hours and helps treat Acne

This is AMAZING for oily skin! I’m in my 40’s and have always had extremely oily skin. I went on Accutane years ago to dry up some of the oil and clear my acne. It worked great for both acne and oil but I was so extremely oily that I still have oil issues. I’m constantly looking for any product that will matte my skin, with very little options out there for this issue. This is the first I’ve found in years that really works. I use a cotton pad and wipe very little on my face after washing. I don’t rinse it off because I need it to absorb the oil during the day. I put my makeup on right over it with no issues. My face looks matted and amazing and I don’t feel “greesy” anymore. I’m buying several more bottles, although the bottles should last quit awhile only using a small portion at a time.

I notice a few people here recommending to try Milk of Magnesia and wanted to add my input... I used MoM for quite awhile and while it did help with the oiliness, it never lasted long and after about two months of use, I noticed my face turning oily faster than it had before I started. It became an absolute necessity to have it on and even then, I wasn't impressed and it did nothing to soothe or control breakouts. This product, on the other hand, has been the best thing I have found for my oily skin, hands down. I put this on after washing my face in the morning, let it dry and then lightly rinse it off before applying my makeup. When I get home from work about 13 hours later, my face is barely showing signs of oiliness and I rarely have new breakouts. (The ones I do are tiny, unlike the cysts I would often get after a long workday before.) Without this product, I wouldn't even make it the 40 minute drive to the office before I could feel oil collecting under my makeup. Not only has it boosted my self confidence, but I FEEL so much better!! Having a fresh, dry face all day has been a game changer.

I waited a while to review this. I have an oily T-zone, and I've tried SO, SO many products, including Roth, Murad, Jane Irdale, Estee Lauder, etc., for the shininess and pores on my nose in particular. I don't even wear foundation on my nose, just powder. So far, wearing this underneath an oil control powder seems to give best results. I still have to touch up mid-day.

I would rate it more 4 1/2 stars cause it does it definitely does its job but its not perfect. Dont get me wrong this is an amazing product. But I have an extremely, extremely, extremely oily skin and so far this is the only product that can maintain a matte face for me about 4-6 and without me having to do a slight touch up (and even when i do a touch-up its like dewey look, not super oily). For the price, its extraordinarily effective.I wear mine at night as a mask sometimes (Which i think if i did more regularly wear it at night it would improve my result) but for every day use, this is now a staple in my makeup essentials. I moisturize my skin and then I put on a light-to-moderate layer on my T-Zone before make up, allow it to dry, put on a light loose setting powder over (trick a lot of oily people use) and then my make upon top of that (and nice finishing spray-i use Bobbi Brown- at the end of that to help everything set to perfection). This process works as a great way of protecting my skin from makeup (to prevent break out) and allowing my make up to last all day.

really liked this product the first time I purchased it. It dried up my oily skin and I noticed my blemishes we're not as severe and my make was staying on throughout the day. However as someone else mentioned, my second purchase was watered down, and it doesn't work as well, if at all. Very sad that either they have cheaped out on ingredients or are simply being lazy and not following the same method to make what was a great product. Update: I just ended up buying the ingredients myself and making my own, it seems like the second purchase was lacking most if not all the kaolin clay, which is what absorbs the oil.

To start I have to say that I have a very oily T zone and pimples appear from time to time. I work in the restaurant business, so you most know that presentation is your strongest card to customers. I started using 'matte' products for men since I found them in the market and I used a couple that worked for me, but loreal and other companies stopped making those products for men. I had to find something to replace them, so I switched. I start using those products for women, which by the way didn't worked good for me, but it was the only option I had at the time. When they stopped making those for women too, I started searching in the internet; guess what? I found the 'Matte perfection' from obsession. I didn't know if this was going to work for me, but for $11 dlls I paid for, was worth the try. I have zero complains. It works wonderful for me, I don't have a shiny forehead and nose anymore. I still have pimples from time to time, I think is just my nature; but nothing big that doesn't disappear in a day or two. The only advice I have: TRY IT!! All you have to lose is eleven dollars. I don't know if obsession makes refunds or returns, but you can ask. Everybody's nature is different, what works for me not necessarily is going to work for you. I am just sharing my experience. Matte perfection is what the T zone is asking for. Go for it. Good luck. P.S. I don't work for obsession, Im just happy with my purchase, hahahaha.

Ordered the product just as a whim. Just lookin to buy some new facial products- tired of the old ones. I bought this- got it. I was excited to use it due to the reviews ...........well I had a completely DIFFERENT experience! This really didnt do anything for my oily skin! Still oily...ONLY thing it has done is shrink my cheek pores- but for oil? NOPE! Great on cheek pores. Terrible on oil- what it was suppose to do. But I guess you just get what you pay for....
