Muir Glen Organic Diced Canned Tomatoes, No Salt Added, 14.5 oz. (Pack of 12)

Muir Glen diced tomatoes are my favorite for adding to soups and chili. The quality is wonderful and the taste is great. Buying by the case versus buying in the food store is a real money saver. Subscribe and Save makes it cost even less.

Love Muir Glen N9 Salt diced tomatoes. So good I could drink and eat them from the can. And no salt!

Muir Glen excludes the tough part of the tomato which connects to the stem. Also, Muir Glen adds a generous amount of tomato sauce to the diced tomatoes. As a result, this product is more delicious than the canned diced tomatoes sold by Costco. Also, this product contains a high amount of vitamin C, vitamin A (as beta carotene), vitamin E, vitamin K1, niacin, choline, fiber, and lycopene and contains just a moderate amount of folate, other B vitamins, and betaine. Only 90 calories per can. August Update: The cans I received in June, 2012 still had the white, plastic inner lining but the cans I received in August, 2012 had the shiny, metallic, brass inner lining, which is BPA-free. September Update: The shiny, metallic inner can lining now looks like it's 100% pure copper, not brass. If these cans get dented, the copper lining would be more flexible and less likely to chip off than a brass lining, which would contain zinc, a very beneficial immune system booster. Actually, the "brass" inner lining of the past might just have been a thinner copper plating over the soft steel inner can.

These freshly diced and canned tomatoes are great............thank you for NOT adding salt! I was buying these at Whole Foods and was thrilled to be able to buy them on Amazon. A quality product, the tomatoes are great. So very convenient to purchase on Amazon and have it delivered to my door! One problem: one of the cans in the order was dented. That I was not too happy about (at Whole Foods I, of course, would not have purchased). I hope that that was an exception rather than the rule with this company. I would hate to think that they are 'sneaking in' one or two dented cans in each order. Surely not (I hope)! The dented can was the reason I couldn't give this product 4 stars. Other than the dented can, a GREAT product.

Fresh and tasty tomato flavor. Easy to add salt to the recipe and control it that way.

I wish I could adequately review the item itself but unfortunately, most of the cans were so damaged that I was afraid to use them. This is not the first time I have had this problem with canned goods from Amazon. Judging from other reviews, this is an often encountered difficulty. The exterior box was fine so I have to assume whoever handled the tomatoes for shipment or the procucer is the culprit. I have contacted Amazon so we will see what happens. UPDATE: I received a quick contact back from Amazon. I was sent a new case which I received very quickly. Every can was perfect. I am glad this turned out as it did because I tried the tomatoes and they are very, very good. I am changing the rating accordingly.

I have ordered these tomatoes many times. It is so nice to have canned tomatoes on hand especially during colder weather seasons when I am constantly making soups, stews and curries. I also love that these are no-salt so I can control the amount of salt I add to my dish. They are organic, which is also a bonus. I don't think that the price is stellar, but it is comparable to what I pay at the market and it is certainly convenient to have a case of 12 delivered right to my door. I have never had any issues with the packaging and while there are usually a few cans that are slightly dented, this does not affect their usability.
