Figure: How to Draw and Paint the Figure with Impact

This book is totally my style of art. I love the whimsical, loosely paintings and drawings that are created in this book. Even if it takes you forever to pick up the book to actually read it and then finding the time to draw/paint/sketch, its worth just having it on your coffee table for inspiration until you can get to it.Fabulous price from buying on Amazon. I bought it used, but it came in perfect condition and packaged for shipping impressively.

I have to warn people who are looking for how to techniques, this book is not for you. The book has a lot of drawings and illustrations, but not so much of how to and techniques, not for people who just learn how to draw figures and illustrations. I personally like this book a lot, it gives me inspirations and insights, because when I bought this book, I wasn't looking for how-to and step-by-step guide books.

The media could not be loaded. Good book, very helpful for beginners. There no a lot of explanations and exercises , but a lot of inspiration.

Love, love, love the artist's technique! If you like this stylized, fashion-drawing method of capturing the human figure in bold, beautiful colors, then this book is a must have. Brief descriptions of each drawing adds a personal and instructional touch. It's a keeper.

A pretty book with nice illustrations. It's not a 'how to' text so much, though. I found it more inspirational than instructional.

I'm a little bit disappointed with this book because I thought it would have more exercises, but all it does is explain in the author's words how she painted particular paintings. I feel like it is too brief for a beginner who wants to learn basic techniques. I wouldn't recommend it.

I used to have a difficult time getting body proportions right. This book has helped me learn how to draw and paint the human form. It has beautiful examples.

This book is written very well and personal. I feel like I'm part of a conversation when I read it.Usually when I read an art book I become bored and uninspired however this book covers so much I have actually been taking it everywhere with me as I read.I'll be looking for more Sharon books to add to my collection. ☺
