Perfect Perfect Perfect
I am not a pro at gardening but I love to give things a try. I am known as the plant killer, I hear the plants cry when I try to take them home as they know its a death sentence LOL. But I am slowly learning things and I have some delicates that needed this. Well it, to me, is really nice dirt or peat moss. It is very light and fluffy if that makes sense. This was easy to work with but just don't do it in the wind, learned that LOL.I am still learning on what to use this for, but I really like it as a topper for my plants it seems to help them. Don't know if it's good or bad, but hey, as long as I don't kill them, it's a win win for me LOLThis was right on par with what was being sold in the stores and it was easy for me to buy it here as it arrived after I got home from work, cause we all know how much we love to stop at a store after work. not. My delicate plant that I thought was going to die a few days after I bought it, is actually alive still, so I must be doing something right.

Better than peat moss to add nutrients. Helps to retain moisture and improve drainage.
I grow most of our vegetables and herbs in our large basement under LED lighting. Although I do buy an excellent brand potting soil (FoxFarm Ocean Forest), I do amend this soil to improve drainage and to improve moisture retention. I use this sphagnum peat moss combined with coco coir for moisture retention. I like the sphagnum peat moss vs. peat moss since it also adds nutrients to the soil. I also use vermiculite for moisture retention and perlite for drainage.Adding peat moss and vermiculite to potting soil is particularly important for plant that require the soil to be kept moist, such as zucchini and yellow squash, tomatoes and peppers. While the peat moss, coco coir, and vermiculite help to retain moisture in the soil, perlite improves drainage so the soil is not kept too wet. Most plants, especially tomatoes and peppers do much better with a PH of 6.2 to 6.8. Since my soil tends to be on the alkaline side with a PH of 7.2 to 7.5, peat moss helps to lower the PH naturally.Even the best potting soils need something added to help retain moisture in the soil. When the soil dries too much, you can water until water runs out the drainage hole, but the water is just running through channels in the soil. You may think you watered the plant sufficiently, but the water has actually run through the soil without actually being absorbed. Sphagnum peat moss absorbs the water and helps to moisten the soil around it while adding nutrients to the soil.

Beautiful moss soil
Soft, moist, rich! The one difficult part about ordering products like this is they list the volume in quarts. This moss is not compacted, it is fluffed to the max. However I mix this with worm castings, vermiculite, pearlite and a little fine sand. Plants love it as a medium but it has no nutritional value. I have transplanted about 4 plants from 4” up to 6” or larger pots and used about half the bag.

I use this to help start seeds in the 2" pots along
I use this to help start seeds in the 2" seedling pots mixed along with potting soil or compost. Works fine, I have no complaints.

High quality product
I recently purchased this peat moss, and I am thoroughly impressed with its quality. This product is excellent, providing a consistent texture and moisture retention that exceeded my expectations. The high quality of the peat moss made it easy to work with, whether I was mixing it into my garden soil or using it as a seed starting medium. My plants are thriving, and I can definitely see the difference it has made in their growth. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for top-notch peat moss for their gardening needs!
