Can't say enough how much we like this leash. Started seeing this type of leash on Pitbull's & Parolees. Nice and solid, 1/2" thick, smooth on the hands, light, adjusting leather strap works fine in limiting the chance of the collar loosen too much where the dog could slip out.I was told by a trainer when you slip on a "choker" type of collar, that you need to look at the loop before slipping over dog's head. Supposedly one way loosens after tension is released (P or D shaped) and the other way does not loosen as well (q shaped). Not sure if that was related to the chain links of a choker or not, but I still follow that when I used it w/ my dog. I walk w/ dog to the left of me... I think that matters for these guides as well.Another tip is to ensure these types of leashes are above your dogs regular collar, so its sitting behind your dogs ears as you walk. This improves control of your dog (see pics of Buddy). Buddy is 35lbs and this leash is a little thick for him, but we had another dog that we used it w/ who twice as big. I would think this is even good for big dogs like Labs or Retrievers... 90 lb dog should be fine. Thick rope...Great light leash. I always have an extra leash in the trunk of our cars. Wouldn't be the first time I found a dog in the middle of the road stopping traffic to catch and contact rescue...

when I adopted my last dog, his foster mom gave me one of these soft sturdy leashes. They are wonderfully strong yet soft at the same time. I just loop it over his head, no need to even remove his collar and we go out. Makes it easy to train him because you can gently tug it in the direction you want him to go and he gets the message--- no need to use a " choke collar". This one is so well made and if my dog decides to bolt away, he doesn't pull my arm off. The leather on this leash is very good-- my leash has been wet from rain many times and it's as good as new. It comes in only one color, but that's not a drawback for us. It's been so effective and easy to get on and off I don't know why I'd never known about this product before

We have a Great Dane puppy who always wants to be out front and is skiddish about many things, so we needed a sturdy leash to keep her under control. We selected this rope leash because it allows us to keep it high on the neck for more control. For casual walks we use a harness which puts pressure on the chest, but for training, I use this rope leash. It works by tightening when you need to and loosens when you want to show you dog she did the right thing - Pressure then release. It has an adjustable stop so when you have the rope loop loose, it won't slip off the dogs neck. Put the leash on and adjust the stop so it allows the rope to slip through the ring, but not so much your pooch can escape.Make sure you position the leash on her neck so the rope loop will easily loosen when you don't have tension on it and the stop rests on the ring.The main challenge I have is keeping the rope high against her neck. It tends to slip down lower and once this happens I have less control.

It's a good quality leash, but no dimensions were given for the diameter of the cord so it is too thick for my purpose. I donated it to National Mill Dog Rescue for the larger dogs, I volunteer there with the smaller dogs & wanted a good training leash that's not too thick. It would help if the company included the size of the cord & not just the length on their site. It came in great condition, new & I like the leather parts & the suppleness of the cord, the price is fair & that's why I didn't return it. I would buy from this company again if they were more specific in listing the sizes.

Oh my gosh, this collar cannot get cuter. It is such good quality, it loops into itself perfectly. This is the ideal for training dogs how to walk obediently. My dog used to walk with a collar and leash, it went okay but she led the way and did what she wanted. I got so tired because I felt that she was walking me instead of the other way around. Finally, when I got this leash she shaped up. She choked up a little the first two times because naturally she wanted to take me on a walk. After the third time she got into the groove and she remembered who is boss. She is great on this leash and she loves it! Anytime I touch it she gets super excited because she knows where we are going. She has no negativity with it regarding it choking her or being uncomfortable. You can also connect it to a leash if your dog is good and doesn't need to be schooled on walking. We both love it and the design is fabulous!

This is a very nice lead, very flexible and slips on quickly and with ease. I really like the length for my dog. It gives him a little more roaming capability yet lets you retain control. I just received this and have used it twice. It appears strong enough for my 65 lb Lab pup. The price was good. It is very nice looking. The picture does not do justice to the real thing. I am sure this will be the only lead I use until I have the occasion to want to buy another one like it. I would recommend it highly. I wish I could find it in some different colors.

This slip lead is a nice quality, soft, and sturdy. Can't beat it for the price! Here's a tip, make a figure 8, so that one loop goes over the dog's snout and the other loop behind the head with the leather stopper. You'll have absolute control of a wild dog. You can find directions on the internet. Made a huge difference in walking my dog and she learned to heel almost instantly. After walking a few times, I slowly went back to using it as a normal slip lead. Would definitely purchase this product again in the future.

Good quality...my dog does not really respond to the pull-discipline aspect. But that is probably totally on my dog. She is a bitch..too smart for her own good. This leash has a really great length and its sturdy. I can see this lasting for a long time. I like the color, it brings out the eyes. Not really. You won't know how you dealed without this. It's super easy to just loop it over their heads. I would say good for a dog of any age.
