Only the Elk Hare Caddis Brown were dissapointing (inconsistent from fly to fly and not like the picture at all)
At $9 for a dozen flies, my expectations were low. Bought 5 different patterns and 4 were incredible value. Only the Elk Hare Caddis Brown were dissapointing (inconsistent from fly to fly and not like the picture at all).Already caught a few smallmouth on these Copper Johns and confident they will work well for trout too.Note the hook sizes range from 12-18...half the flies you get are size 16/18 which are tiny and I probably won't use, but I'm still happy with 6 flies for this price.

Second batch
I order a second batch of these great little flies. They work great and have caught me plenty of fish. They do that so well, that I usually wear the fly out after one session with it.

Apparently difficult to count
Seem like decent quality, as others have mentioned no spiral wire as shown in photo. They sent me 8 out of 12, but I suppose if you aren't actually counting while you count they're hard to count...

Work Great for Stream Trout
These are my favorite flies for the streams in the Sierras. You can let them sink as needed too.
