Q: Does this cause blisters on back of heel? I have other water shoes that rub and cause blisters and I am looking something I can wear longer.

Yes! They rubbed on my heels when I first got them. It’s the way the shoe fits on me, the way the heel sits lower in the shoe than the rest of the foot caused more pressure on the back strap than other sandals I’ve worn. I solved the issue by applying a slim piece of sticky-backed moleskin to the inside of the backstrap. Completely resolved any chafing and never had a problem since. I love how lightweight these Keen sandals are.

Q: Can these be used exclusively for playing in the water and used at beach?

In my opinion the sandals are too nice to wear at the beach or in the water. I would purchase an actual water shoe made exclusively for water.

Q: Are the Keen Rose sandals able to be used in the ocean?

You can definitely use them in the ocean! I would just recommend rinsing them with fresh water as soon as possible once you get out as salt water can fade the color and erode the materials quicker than normal.

Q: Do they smell after use ?

I have never smelled a smell. This is not a completely enclosed shoe so air circulates . I have 4 pair and they are attractive and comfortable at same time.A great travel shoe .
