I'm a little past a year using this keyboard and while the look and feel of it is awesome, it's beginning to show some issues. Frequently, key strokes for certain keys either don't register or register twice. Sometimes I have to hit a key three or four times before it is recognized. Other times I barely hit a key and it registers twice. I'm not sure if this is a key issue or a transmission issue but either way, it's becoming a problem and rebooting (by unplugging) the keyboard does not fix the problem. I feel like for the cost of this keyboard, it should give me more than 10-12 months of quality service. As I said, this thing looks great, feels great and is definitely of solid construction. And it gave me great service for at least ten months. Some caveats (but not necessarily anything wrong with the laptop): I find the keyboard a little too small. If you have big hands or are used to a larger keyboard, then this will take some getting used to. A year+ of use and I'm still making fairly frequent typos simply due to the key and keyboard size. I wish it was just a tad bigger. I think the lights are useless. They're extremely bright (can be dimmed, I know) and only backlight the keys. I've never actually used the keyboard with the lights on (but I did not buy it for the lights - just thought others would like to know).

Why on Earth would you have a backlight on a keyboard with opaque keys? All it does is cause a useless glare around the keys that makes them even harder to read. The box says Blue switches but they are indeed white. Blue would have been better. Very mushy feel, not much tactile feedback. I'm old enough to have actually used typewriters, a lot, and these does not feel anything like those, which had a very solid mechanical thunk that you felt in your fingers. Even electric ones had a clearly perceptible actuation. Solidly built. I like the aluminum base and being waterproof is a killer design feature. That plus the raised keys makes easy cleaning. But the opaque keycap/backlight combination is so atrociously bad that I'm sending it back. It is just unusable.

Delightfully retro, this keyboard has become the centerpiece of my desk. The keyboard itself is heavy, the aluminum is solid, and the led lighting behind the keys can be set to different patterns - currently mine only lights up the led attached to the key pressed, but you can apply multiple preset patterns. Comfortable to use and incredibly stylish, I plan to order another for my home office. The keys are easy to activate, and give satisfying resistance when struck. Highly recommended!

This keyboard makes me insanely happy. I bought it because I love the feel and use of typewriters but obviously, as a writer, they are impractical in daily usage. I actually originally found this elsewhere online but it was about ten bucks cheaper on Amazon, Prime shipping, and a trusted site. The keyboard came a full day earlier than expected, so I was thrilled about that. I like the lighting, though to be honest, I don't have much use for it because I don't write in the dark. The cord for this is braided, so I don't have to worry as much about wear to the cord (or the fact that I have felines that are definitely on the side of being total jerks so they would mess with the other cords I have. It's got nice length, though with the weight of this thing, I'm not setting it in my lap to type any time soon. The good thing is, if a zombie apocalypse ever happens, this keyboard will definitely also act as a weapon. I mean, I know I'll probably be at my desk when it hits, so I can just pick this sucker up and brain a zombie and then go back to writing - because it's also waterproof! I mean, this is win/win, because the braided cord means I could have wider swing also! So, win/win/win I guess! Overall, I like the feel, I like the clicking noise the keys make - is that tactile noise? I'm not sure but whatever it is, it also makes ignoring people easier because I can just keep typing and drown out their rambling. I don't have any complaints about this bad-as-a-mother keyboard and I am ecstatic about how delightfully nerdy it is.
