Bought several copies as gifts for friends and recommended to many others.This book is a very fine broad introduction to the major mathematics ideas and mathematicians through history.I recommend this book most strongly to students in high school and college and their families.

A comprehensive history of math, with clear explanations of the most complex subjects in mathematics. Tastefully illustrated. If you have friends who like science or math, this makes a great gift for them.

Excellent, informative book

This is the rough draft of what could be a decent book. Unfortunately, it is riddled with errors: arithmetic, algebraic, logical, spelling and indexing. The myriad errors will misinform the lay-reader and distract the mathematically-inclined reader.
