Saphir Varnish Rife Patent Leather Cleaner - for Shoes, Boots, Bags & Clothes

I have exactly 1 pair of patient leather shoes and of course they are prone to scratching. They are my first such pair as an adult so learning to care for them has been a trip. This stuff is wonderful & is doing a great job keeping that shine.

I am seriously impressed. I bought the Saphir Vernis Rife Patent Leather Cleaner in black. My black Chanel patent leather bag was starting to get that cloudy look, and was a little scratched with fingerprint marks. This did wonders!! It completely restored the bag. It looks new!! Below are my steps. 1st - I cleaned the bag with gentle soapy water and a microfiber cloth very carefully. Wiped it down with a clean damp cloth. Then quickly wiped it dry. 2nd - Make sure you lay down a towel that you don't mind getting stained - anything the Saphir touches will stain so DO NOT SPILL IT. Once the bag was fully dry, I followed the instructions on the Saphir box. With a microfiber cloth, I wiped on the Saphir (avoiding any untreated leather parts - cover those with a towel). The product does come with a towel; however, I prefer using microfiber cloths as they are bigger. Let it set for 3 minutes, a cloudy residue will form. Get a clean cloth and start wiping the cloudy residue in circular motions. I do this 2 times. Amazing results!! If you are still nervous watch Youtube videos.

Great product

This product was very easy to use and quickly restored shine to my patent leather shoes. The instructions that came with the product were not very helpful, but I found a video that helped.

Been using Saphir clear polish for years, love it. So I tried the black, this is for black patent shoes- bags etc. Fabulous results! If uour looking for a great cleaner/polish for your patent items- this it it!

So the polish quality on this works wonderful but the smell of this product is absolutely awful. So with that in mind it does work very well in making your patent leather very nice and shiny but the chemical smell is quite terrible.

This noxious tiny little bottle did nothing for my patent leather shoes except give me a migrane from the fumes! Stank to high heaven! Now check the photos—can you tell which side was “polished”? Can you tell which photo was before or after? Yah, neither could I! This stuff made ZERO difference, and it definitely didn't add any shine or buff out the scuffs in the shoes. Total ripoff. PS. After a lot of experimentation with all sorts of DIY suggestions online, I found that for shiny patent leather formal shoes Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish worked the best. It's sold for car headlights, and you need to use a tiny amount (like a pea amount per shoe) and buff out in multiple layers. After 2-3 buff/polish cycles I noticed a huge difference with the Meguiars PalstX, whereas the Vernis Rife did absolutely nothing.

Works really well! Make sure to apply thin layers. You can always apply second coat or 3rd coat anyway
