This book is a must read for kids. Especially in this age of digital games!

NICE BINDING. NICE ILLUSTRATIONS

We are very pleased with our copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales. The illustrations by Daniela Drescher are gorgeous & evocative. Each fairy tale has one full-color illustration accompanying the text. Some of the longer tales also have simple black & white drawings to go with it as well. The paper is exceptional & the book feels wonderful in the hands. All the stories are carefully selected & all are appropriate for as young as the Kindergarten age child & some even for younger children, depending on the sensitivity of the child. We've found some gems in there that I had never heard of before, but have completely charmed all of us: One-eye, Two-eyes & Three-eyes; The Goose Girl at the Well, among others. I like that there isn't a picture on every page. My children lean back and listen to me read the story with all their ears & make the pictures with their imaginations. The fairy tales come alive more for them this way. I also think that because the book is more text than pictures that my children will enjoy it for many more years to come, as they step away from picture books & step into the world of reading. It won't be put aside by them for being "too young" but can be something they might come back to later, again & again.

Traditional collection of tales, with old favourites and some less well known stories. Stories read well - fluent lively language and a beautifully produced book. Daniela Drescher's colourful illustrations, as always, are hauntingly expressive and lovely, with closely observed natural details accompanying the action - her birds! her flowers! the forest! - and there are many black and white silhouette images scattered throughout.

My son and I thoroughly enjoy reading these tales. They are beautifully illustrated. Would recommend
