Open pet's mouth with one hand over top of head and muzzle. Apply pressure with fingers on each side of the jaw hinge. Insert pill popper over tongue and to back of mouth. Quickly push plunger to administer. Warm notes: we suggest usage trials for several times before feeding your pets medicines. Make sure the rubber ends fixed firmly into the barrel and will not come off easily to the back of your pet's throat leading to chocking. To make the pills come out easily, we suggest pills should be split into parts to feed, such as size of a good-sized vitamin tablet.

doesn't work
If you put a pill in the end with a bit sticking out the plunger is not long enough to pop it out. Not only that but the rubber ring keeping the plunder in place immediately jammed up and twisted so now I have to figure out how to get it out. Should return it.

Update 09/20/21The tips are no longer notched so it's not possible to use these with solid pills, just liquids.Taking off two stars as this severely reduces the usefulness of this item.also the attachment can only hold smaller sized pills

This is NOT a pill popper!
This product is NOT a pill popper, it is for liquids. I used it three times to give my cat a pill and the plastic tip split. I used the second tip once and it split, too! I would definitely not recommend this product.

Not as advertised
What arrived is not a pill shooter, it is a feeder. You will have to cut the nipple in order for this to work for pills, and it will never work well. You'll get about 10 uses before it's headed for the landfill.

Not the best or easiest to use...
I purchased for my older cat who is VERY tough to give medication to... It's pretty difficult to push through and was useless for us.
