Tyvek can protect a tent floor from punctures by sticks or rocks and is waterproof and inexpensive.

This tyvek section is the perfect size ground cloth for sleeping 1 person under a tarp or under the stars. It seems large when you open the package, but after a 10min scrunching and krinkling session and a trip through a cold wash cycle, it shrinks up and loses its memory, becoming more akin to a worn dollar bill. I haven't tried the adhesive loops yet, but they seem very sturdy.I've spent a couple weekends using this as my dropcloth under an insulated Big Agnes inflatable pad. It's super lightweight, blocks all moisture from the ground, and is very resistant to puncture from debris. This is important when protecting a relatively fragile inflatable sleeping pad.I'm very pleased. This is a super basic affordable piece of backpacking gear that seems like it will last me a number of seasons.

I used the crumple method to quiet down the new material and it took only about 15 minutes of wadding it up, spreading it out, wad it more, rinse and repeat. All the wrinkling up makes the material shrink a little bit, so do this first, then trim to fit. This size is perfect for the Lanshan 2 trekking pole tent with just a small amount of trimming in both directions, leaving about a 10" strip of leftover tyvek that I cut in half, so each vestibule has a spare bit of material for under shoes or pack. The adhesive for the tiedowns is super sticky and seems like it will last the lifetime of the groundsheet. Thanks!

Used it on an Elk Hunt in Wyoming. Washed it 4 times to reduce the noise. Worked well and kept me clean and dry. Came with good instructions.

This fit perfectly under my 3ful Lanshan 2 trekking pole tent.4 cycles in a top loading washing machine on "heavy" softened it right up leaving it quiet. I highly recommend this as a ground sheet

It didn't come with all six tabs, only five and a blank piece of paper. There were no instructions, although I know to crunch it until the Tyvek wasn't so loud. Now that I see the tabs, I wish I had ordered some with grommets. That would have improved its value as a tent footprint.

Saved me from going to construction sight begging for a sheet.
