Do not buy if it is to be used for putting on compression stockings. When you place the stocking over the device, the plastic sides are not rigid enough and as a result they bend inward. This makes it impossible to fit your foot into it. In the blurb about the product, the vendor states 'eliminates the struggle and frustration involved while putting on socks, heavy-duty compression stockings'. This is not true. Another thing that bothers me is that this item is not returnable. I wish Amazon would force vendors to display this information on the first page so that potential buyers are aware of this fact.Update:7/4/2018 Med Shop & Beyond has notified me by email that they will give me a full refund without having to return the product.

I love this grip!!! I was unable to get my compression hose on. My doctor had another type and even the nurse who wears the compression hosiery couldn't use it. I decided to give this a try and it was WONDERFUL!!! I got the hose on easily and wear them all the time due to bad veins and lack of blood flow. These work!!! My legs are no longer swollen like to legs of lamb and the hose make the difference. But I was ready to give up until I bought this grip.

This product works as advertised for most people. Problem is if you have larger feet, size 12 and up, your foot won't fit into the unit. The foot width is the issue. Works perfectly for people with "normal" size feet (I had my kids and wife test it, no problem at all). I'd recommend it for anyone who has smaller than a size 12 foot.UPDATE 3-11-2017 I've upped my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. With a minor modification to accommodate my wider than average foot (I applied a bit of heat and was able to widen the device to accommodate my foot width), this sock aid now works as advertised. I found the other key was for a longer sock, loop the end of the sock over the knots, so that it pulls the sock all the way up snuggly.

After recent health problems I was unable to put my socks on. At the rehab hospital they had a similar device to assist with socks, their rope was one piece around, not two like this model. This model with two ropes is so much better! If you've never used anything like this before, you pull the open sock end over the plastic sleeve, then hold onto the ropes, put your foot in the sleeve and pull the sock on (diagram/easy instructions included). It's that easy! I highly recommend this product! You won't regret buying it!

My Dad was truly thrilled when this arrived. He had been using a sock aid he had gotten while at the rest home for hip surgery and complained it was very flimsy. I started looking around here on Amazon and when I saw the rope and handles on this, well it was a no brainer.Totally different and far higher quality than what my Dad was using. In fact, he'd been so frustrated he was having my Mom put his socks on for him in the mornings, so they were both pleased as punch when I brought this over!Dad uses it everyday and says compared to the cheap one from the home, he feels like his sock aid is luxurious. He said luxurious!!! When a cranky 70 something tells you that, well pat yourself on the back!Get the cranky 70+ person in your life this luxury sock aid! It will make everyone happy!

I think that this is one of the best. It is smooth plastic which is easy to keep clean. I spritz a bit of anti-fungus spray inside onto the plastic so my foot slides easily into the sock with very little tugging.The pull-ropes are large and very soft. The hand grips are foam-like material that is also comfortable to the hand.I brought my Sock Aid to the hospital so it would be available after hip replacement surgery. The Occupational Therapist was very impressed - because this Eva Medical Sock Aid is far superior to what they had to offer.I don't know how well this works with compression stockings and such but I expect that, if it is "loaded" properly, it will do a slick job - even with hard-to-use items. Especially if the inside has that spritz of foot spray to help the foot slide easily all the way into the toe of the stocking.FYI - I have large ( size 12 ~ 13 ) feet.This Sock Aid is large enough for me but might not be large enough if you have giant feet, I is rigid plastic - so it doesn't fold or get small if you have to pack it for travel. If something else did not work well for you, this might be the right product

I have bad knees and a bad back, so putting on socks before was an experience in pain. Sometimes great pain. Burning pain. Pain that made me yelp. This device has changed the whole experience into a pain-free one, albeit requiring a bit of patience. It takes a little while to get the sock positioned properly on the device because it requires stretching the sock, making sure it's centered and over the gripper button in the back (did I mention the arthritis in my hands?).All in all, I am VERY happy with this device. It's well-made and will obviously last forever. It will enable me to get through the winter with much less pain. Hooray!

I'm not a fan of this product. It is hard plastic, but it doesn't fit over my upper calf. Also, due to the rigidity, and the sock has to be stretched out over it, I think it will probably shorten the life of my socks by stretching them all out.The sock doesn't really hook over anything, but instead relies on a piece of rubber on the bottom for friction in pulling, and so it doesn't really pull the socks up very well. It basically gets them over the foot, but then I have to reach down to pull them up tight. I guess if you prefer your socks very loosely pulled up, that would be good, but it's not for me.Also, again due to the rigidity, it doesn't collapse down for packing.I would return mine, but they don't accept returns, at least of this item. I have bought a different product, but guess I'll still have this since I can't return it.

The product arrived wrapped in a closed plastic bag but the item is dirty.The white cord is soiled.
