LSAT Prep Plus 2020-2021: Strategies for Every Section + Real LSAT Questions + Online (Kaplan Test Prep)

So I recently took the October LSAT upon the revelation that I wanted to be a lawyer. I got this book because it seemed like a good jumping-off point and the reviews were good. As I went further into the book (after attempting the logic games, and the logical reasoning sections) I realized that this book was FAR too general to be of any real use to me. Unfortunately for me, however, I discovered this a couple of weeks before the LSAT. The LSAT is an immensely hard test. Let me repeat that for the people in the cheap seats; THE LSAT IS AN IMMENSELY HARD TEST. You will not learn all the ins-and-outs about the language used and the possible faux-pas test-takers encounter from this book hardly at all. The details that this book cover are the bare minimum of what the LSAT entails. Only after taking my test did I realize that there were some other really great sources for me out there that would not break the bank (*cough cough*, I'm looking at you 1,500+ dollar Princeton Review online class *cough*). If anybody needs a studying tool that actually works, I HIGHLY recommend 7Sage. They are only 70$ a month and offer a yearly subscription to their site that is still a fraction of the cost of that online course that will not set you back about three car-payments and two months' rent compared to some of the other courses I've seen. They even allow you to have a two-week trial class to see if their method can work for you. So please don't be like me, and just invest in 7Sage. (I realize that this sounds A LOT like a sales-pitch, but I sincerely want everyone to know how good 7Sage is)

I think if you aren’t someone who has taken AP or IB exams, SATs or event he PSATs this book would be for you. The depth of breaking down how the test is formatted and how to apply logic and reason is impressive to the point it gets rather boring. I try to skip to the substantive part but still haven’t found it yet. For conciseness it would have been best to list out the different methods of analysis and different reasoning tests and then gotten further into examples. Unfortunately I don’t think this book is for me even though I am in no rush to take the LSATs. In conclusion, you shouldn’t buy this if you are in a time crunch or looking for a high level description and or in depth tips on scoring well on the LSATs. More for someone who really struggle with reasoning and analyzing and want to start from scratch.

To me, this book is very wordy, yet it says little. This is especially evident with the explanations of the Logic Games. It does a decent job of showing an initial set up, but a very poor job of explaining how to make inferences, which is everything when it comes to logic games. I suspect that this type of material is geared toward encouraging readers to pay thousands of dollars for Kaplan's prep courses.Do yourselves a favor. Look at the material that is available on Khan Academy (it's free) and consider ordering the PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible. It does a much better job of explaining strategies in much fewer words than the LSAT Prep Plus. I read about 300 pages in LSAT Prep Plus, and felt like I didn't grasp it.

I am self-studying! The first time I prepped for the LSAT I used Testmasters ( I couldn’t even make the National median). Kaplan’s prep book is so thorough! I used to think the LSAT was hard or maybe I wasn’t smart enough.

Hi. I am in the process of studying for the LSAT, and this was the first book I got. When I got the book I immediately dove right in because I only gave myself 3 months to study. After a couple of months I was not really learning the skills I needed be sufficient for the test, but I figured by the time I was done with the book I would have the skills I needed. Turned out I was wrong. In the end I had to reschedule my test and have since gotten better study materials that make so much more sense. For all you aspiring LSAT takers, do not be fool by those who say the test is not hard, because it is. Even those who have scored in the 99th percentile and have studied for a year have struggled with it (My friends that took the LSAT all scored in the 99th percentile and they all studied anywhere from 3 months to a year AND they all struggled with the test). I wish this book was better at teaching those who are self-learning and studying on their own but it really is not. I would not even give this book away for free because there are so many other resources out there that are better. Just saying.

Though this book is loaded with informative content the online kaptest.com/moreonline resource is super helpful!!!

My daughter is a rising junior in college and she plans on going to law school. Her internship fell through this summer and she decided to use some of her extra time to learn a little about the LSAT. She purchased 2 books and feels like this one gives her a good handle on the exam.

I used this coupled with Khan Academy to improve my score by seven points on the LSATs. I think that the book is a really good resource to have. It works for any time frame you may have for studying for the LSATs.

Part of doing a good study is to have examples. All the practice exercises in chapter 10 are missing half of the steps needed to attack a problem. Really frustrating.There is no remedy online as it is not even addressed.Caveat emptor.

I did a lot of research, look no further. If you plan to diy your LSAT preparation, this is the only book to buy

My wife bought this book to study for her LSAT... kind of an important thing. Right? Unfortunately, it's missing nearly 50 PAGES!

The book came in days before it was due, making my daughter super happy.
