Q: My purchase came with unpainted gongs...explanation!?

That's strange, it should have come powder coated white, with a Dragon Targets sticker to stick in the middle if you like. The reason they powder coat it white is so you can use white spray paint to spray over where your bullets hit after each session.

Q: Whats the diameter on the center hole ?

The square holes on the targets are 9/16"

Q: What size target would you recommend for a .45 muzzle loading flint lock *shooting an 80grain charge*?

I no longer shoot my smoke pole, however, I have 10 and 12 “ steel targets both would be fine for black powder. We shoot both with some hot loads no problem at all.
