Making the Shift: How to Live Your True Divine Purpose

...I believe Dr Dyer should pay me for listening to the CD
When it comes to self help, I don't tend to be critical. Any positive suggestion, is deemed worthy of consideration and should therefor merit a good review. However, in this case I feel the CD was made for Mr. Dyer's self thereapy. It is so full of "his story", "his past", "his overcoming", "his failures". I feel as if I should be paid to listen to the CD, much the same as a therapist would.I have 20 minutes, twice a day in my commute to glean a pearl of wisdom. I have a hard time recalling the topic of discussion as it is so enmeshed in Dr. Dyer's story.Having listened to other Dyer CD's (which I would recommend, but also feel they are little too full of personal history), I also noted discrepancies in "stories" told in another CD and this. i.e. In the "Power of Intention" - Dyer claims to have been jogging 18 or so miles a day and having 4-5 beers in the evening afterward. (I doubted the 18 mile a day jogs at the time - but that is irrelevant) In "Power of Intention" - Dyer recommends giving up Alcohol completely as a means of purification, and accessing 'Source'. He claims he had no addiction or problem w/ alcohol. In "Making the Shift", he claims to have had some form of Alcohol Dependence and 'hits rock bottom'. Discrepancies, also exist as to his relationship w/ his 'first wife' from 'sending love going thru the divorce' in one cd to having not spoke to her in 20 years. As far as ego eradication, I belive he might be a little delutional in his progress. In the "Power of Intention", he admits to having an ego as evidenced by his picture everywhere(I appreciate the honesty). In "Making the Shift" he claims to have made progress towards lessening the ego. I question, this as he tells the story of making a public apology to his first ex-wife whom he hasn't seen or spoken with in 20 or so years at one of his lectures - an action which would have put the spotlight on himself, while supported by his fans. He pauses, and thanks the crowd for it's lack luster applause. Why one would be applauded for apologizing or thankful for applause for seems egotistal to me.Mr Dyer claims that he makes so much money and just gives it away. Yet he solicits his 'fans' on the behalf of his fellow collegue/teacher who finds himself in financial difficulty due to his prior generosity and current misfortuen. At one turn Mr. Dyer can't go to the mailbox without getting money, at the next he is telling me of a charitable organizaion that provides housing for his colegue. (Housing which his collegue must pay rent for)In sum, I found myself inpatient while listening to the CD; waiting for the 'pearl' and enduring the retelling of personal history. I found myself critiquing the different versions of stories and becoming judgemental in the discrepancies in statements.Additionally, Mr. Dyer re-iterates a number of his suggestions and sources and quotes from prior CDs.This CD lacks value

Well worth your time and money!
I haven't paid much attention to Wayne Dyer's self help material in many years. After his death my daughter forwarded a link to The Shift movie and I loved it. After watching the movie I wanted my own copy (of the DVD) and I located this set of CD's, Making The Shift, on Amazon. I don't usually spend time just listening to CD's but I have to say I listened to this set and the time just flew by. This set is well worth purchasing. There is material in the CD's that help you to move along the path of finding your divine purpose or dharma as Wayne refers to. We all have a dharma and if each and every one of us were in tune to and living by that dharma the world would be a much better place. I believe heath problems, depression, and societal issues would be at a minimum. After all no one questions the innate drives in the plant and animal kingdoms. Why should we try to mold our children, family, and friends away from their God directed paths.

No regrets with this purchase
This CD set is beneficial to making the personal growth process a little easier. I just finished the set and know for a fact i will listen to it many more times. Dr. Wayne Dyer is so on point with a lot of his statements. I need to listen repeatedly so the valid points sink in and stay there! He is a great speaker and i find myself wanting to share his wisdom with many of my friends. My other favorite was his set "Power of Intention".. It wasnt the book one but a conference like this "Making the Shift" set. I did worry that a lot of the material would be repetitive but it absolutely is NOT! They are both great CD sets. Buy this if you can.. you will be glad you did!

Good Cd on Wayne Dyer teachings
If this were his only cd I probably would have given it a 4 star, but because Wayne has better cds that when I listened to this one I was like "it was just ok"It also contains some crude humor and references and also the f bomb which I thought was very strange.I also didn't like the transition from one cd to the next, it always seemed like there was some missing discussion that they had left out.Overall his material is very thought provoking and I enjoy listening to it.

I really enjoyed these audio sessions
I really enjoyed these audio sessions. There is something about listening to a live presentation vs. reading a book that has a greater affect. I really enjoyed the stories too.

Love love love
Dr Dyer lives up to his reputation. His gentle commanding voice and the truth of his words resonate with me on every level, although I'm very familiar with this subject and these concepts. It's perfect to drive to as well, much better to listen to something that is positive and nourishes your soul than the bubble gum music on the radio! Also, if you would like to introduce someone to spirituality and the concepts of the New Thought Movement, I think this is an ideal gift.
