Schwarzkopf Simply Color Permanent Hair Color, 8.0 Medium Blonde

I developed an allergy on my scalp with the hair dyes from the salon, so I decided to switch to something healthier. I really love this brand, my hair is very soft and most importantly, my scalp does not itch. The only thing is that the color is lot darker than the one shown on the box, so I combine 2 different colors (almond brown and medium blond) to get a medium brown color.

I really like this product. Wary of other reviews stating it was darker than shown, I purchased the medium blonde to put lowlights in, but found it true to color so it was a subtle difference with my color (yellow/gold from the summer weather) ordering the dark blonde for my next attempt. Plus side, no damage. I have thin long hair, natural sandy blonde, and it really didn’t dry it out or kill my ends.Compared to other ‘box dyes’ the color was not caustic! Very mild compared to other popular brands.Remember to consult the color wheel-people left reviews about unexpected tinting and coloring, really depends what you’ve put in your hair already!

Easy to use, smelled and felt good. But even at the discounted price I paid for this, the value wasn't there. Now I have to wait two weeks to use another product.

Ok... I did my research.. .and lots of it. I am allergic to hair color. As I got older, the more sensitive the back of my neck became. The last time I went to my hairdresser for a color, I was sick for 2 weeks! Never again!!So I did my research. Many people have reviewed this hair color that have allergies. Some reviews were better than others. I have hair past my shoulders... so I purchased two boxes just to be safe that I would have enough. One bottle ended up being enough.First thing I learned from other reviews, this goes on darker than expected! I have chestnut brown hair... I purchased the Medium Blonde, it ended up being the exact color of my hair. The instructions are pretty simple. It said to keep on hair 30 minutes. With that said, I have gray roots, and I hate them. Those pesky grays are about 3 inches long because I have PTSD from my hairdresser almost putting me in the hospital.When the color was in my hair, the top of my head tingled... that was the extent of any reaction I had. My eczema on the back of my neck and hair line did not flare at all.... so for any of you with those allergies... this is for sure a color to try. I kept it in 30 minutes like I said and they give a conditioner to put in after you rinse it out.The bad news is I have washed my hair twice since coloring and the grays on top are back already :( In other reviews I noticed that people say it does not last long, like 8 washes... so I was hoping to make it that long. Being this color gave me no reaction... I am giving it another try in about a month. This time I may keep on my top roots longer to see if that works..... I may try to buy a shade darker as well.It's worth a try for those who have allergies or just don't want those horrible chemicals soaking in your brain.Update 2/2025I keep the color on my grays longer, about 45-50 mins and it lasts longer!! very mild on the scalp!

Love this hair dye but it can be tricky with gray hair, my gray strands do not match the rest of my hair color and are instead noticeable lighter

This was my first time using this brand, and using a more gentle dye..I love that there is 0% silicone, alcohol or ammonia...the scent of the dye wasn't overpowering at all...mixing was easy enough and I liked the screw on cap for the applicator vs the snap off ones. My hair came out fabulous, and soft. I'll definitely purchase again!

It’s the first time I used an ammonia free hair color . The medium blond is darker then I’m used to but I ended up liking it . Looks very natural . I only mixed up half of the dye and use it on my gray roots. There was some left and I used it on the rest of my shoulder length hair . I left it on for 45 minutes . I used half or less of the conditioner and it made my hair very shiny and soft . I’ll get 2 uses out of one pack .

I thought maybe it was just the first package I had of this hair color that left my hair color dull and looking like an ash blonde. As I washed it, it finally got to my color. I thought it was just a fluke of that batch, but when I tried it again, it did the very same thing. Color #08 seems to be different in the non recycled box. The reason I purchased this type was that it is permanent where the newer package says Permanent also on it but under that it says..."washes out in 28 days". To me that in no way is permanent! I've liked Schwarzkopf formula before as I thought it was gentler on the hair. I just expected that the color would be consistent with each formula.
