Wren Rules Airplay, Play-Fi Alike
For good taste, great sound,Airplay, Bluetooth and no-compromises Android capability too, look no further. I spent weeks researching and listening to other contenders, including tBose boys big and small, and the Zeppelins from my beloved Bowers & Wilkins -- but in the end, Wren Rules. My sole gripe is that the gorgeous wood exterior is but a veneer, but I guess that's the price paid for the immensely full-throated sound this system delivers. If you want the next step up, you'd have to spend a few thousand for a real AVR with stereo speakers and satellites -- OR you could simply purchase another Wren and configure appropriately. Whether you seek a starter for your apartment, a kitchen extension or a take-anywhere, all-in-one audio solution, this is your speaker. One warning: it's heavy!POSTSCRIPT: I now have a big second gripe, which has to do with pairing and re-pairing. If you change your WiFi password, or take it on vacation, you'll have to reset it and start from zero, which means re-downloading all the updates before it will play. Also, PRINT OUT THE INSTRUCTIONS, because you'll need them! The pairing is so ridiculously arcane that I was ready to fling the thing into the bay where we were staying. Now I simply don't use it at home, because I can't face re-re-pairing it. Honestly, now that the Sonos 3 has come down in price to $250, I'd consider that option seriously.

Excellent versatility, easy to set up, but INFERIOR SOUND QUALITY
Mixed Review - but ultimately, these speakers were not for me.THE GOODThe Wren V5US is truly versatile - in the 1/2 day I played with it, I was able to use it in both WiFi and Bluetooth modes, driving it from my iPad and my Windows 10 PC. Using WiFi from my PC I was able to stream NaxosMusic Library and my own music collection. From my iPad with the Play-Fi app, I could stream Amazon's Prime Music (I don't subscribe to any of the other several services Play-Fi supports - it does not support Naxos). To stream Naxos, then, I had to switch to Bluetooth. All this is quite impressive, and for that, I'd give it 5 stars. BUTTHE BADI found the sound quality inferior. The bass was OK (all the EQ functions worked fine) - but the treble, much to my surprise, was tinny. I listen primarily to classical music - the strings in string quartets were thin-sounding. I switched back and forth between my Bose SoundDock, my PC's Bose subwoofer and speakers, and the Wren - trying several different pieces of music. I just was not impressed. Even had the speakers been cheaper, I could not have tolerated their sound. Hence the 2 stars.

Great sounding speaker
This is truly an amazing speaker ( at least to my ears) tried Polk and Bose before this speaker and find it to have much nicer sound, tight bass and great treble plenty of volume. The EQ adjustment really works great. it adjust for speaker placed against wall, in corner or in open space.Having Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and and 3.5 input jack make this speaker work with all of my devices. If you are picky about the way your music sounds this could be the right speaker for you

The speaker sounds nice, and at first was a nice experience
Amending my previous 2 star review for 3, to note that their customer support team refunded our money in full. We did like the sound of the speaker and the look, but sadly didn't work for us wirelessly other than Bluetooth despite troubleshooting.—The speaker sounds nice, and at first was a nice experience, setup was relatively easy. But we have had trouble connecting via WiFi after a few weeks worth of use. Even after lots of customer support email exchanges, have yet to resolve our WiFi AirPlay connections. In the meantime, we've shifted to Bluetooth, however even that has given us trouble. So at this point, we have a $500 wireless speaker we can't play music from wirelessly.

I only wish they were as good as they could be...
I love this company and adore the attentiveness of the CEO. I bought an entire system for my home and for over a year he stepped up to the plate each time I had a glitch in set up or when a speaker would fail. But in the past year I have had numerous speakers fail with zero response and have slowly had to migrate speaker by speaker to a competitor. Sad because wren sound and design is truly so lovely. Setup was never easy, but I stuck in there because the support was incredible. And then nothing. I just had to trash another two beautiful speakers that in quick succession simply stopped working and replace them with a competitor. Out of the seven I originally purchased at this point I only have two left still working. Bummer. I really believed in it.

The sound is great, especially when you consider the size of the unit. I am very particular about sound, and I am very critical about the modern trend towards overly hyped bass and muddy sound. I previously had the V5AP (now discontinued) and everything about the V5US is a great step up and major improvement. The addition of the bass EQ adjustment switch is a welcome addition and saves me from having to reach for the EQ in the Spotify (or other) app. The support for Play-Fi, Airplay and Bluetooth makes the V5AP incredibly versatile. I can now stream to the Wren from IOS and Android devices, my PC and Mac, and even my Amazon echo via Bluetooth. The support for dual-band WIFI also does improve WiFI connectivity.I must also make special mention of the incredible support I received from CEO Mike Giffin at Wren Sound. When I wrote to their technical support for an issue I was having with my original unit, I received a helpful reply directly from Mike within minutes - and that was on a Sunday! Mike treated me like I was his only customer and he went above and beyond to make sure my issue was resolved and I was happy. Mike is more than fair and should you ever encounter an issue with the unit, I am confident that he will make things right and not stop until you are happy.
