Quality knives, reasonably priced.
Sharp, but need sharpening quite often. They are durable and they make my time in the kitchen faster and much more enjoyable. Worth every cent. These are the nicest, highest quality knives I've ever owned. I'm an semi-professional chef that cooks and prepares almost all of our family's meals at home. I can not afford higher end knives. For the price I'm extremely satisfied and would order them again, and I would recommend them to others looking for a quality, affordable knives. I have dropped mine on the tile floor of my kitchen and they are fine (you cannot tell they have ever dropped). I drip-dry them in a strainer, no rust (and I live in Florida). I have not put them in a dishwasher though so don't know how they would hold up that way, I don't want to risk it. I primarily use the larger chef knife for nearly everything making my older/cheaper knife sets basically obsolete. I don't love the pairing knife, it is sharp and works well but it is hard to tell which side is the sharp side and it's a bit long for my taste (I have very small hands). All in all I am completely satisfied with these knives, I love them. They save me so much time and work (which is a huge plus as I have a repetitive stress injury that can flare up during meal prep with my other knives).

Best production Chefs knives available
As a retired Chef of 20 plus years, I can say without a doubt Victorinox fibrox handled knives are easily the best knives I ever used for the value they provide. No, they aren't the fancy forged knives you see on the cooking shows, I've owned many of them as well, but as far as every day use in real production kitchens these stamped knives are your best friend. Very sharp, easy to sharpen yourself as well, (try sharpening a dull forged knife) and easily replaceable if lost or broken. I saw many Chefs surprised when their expensive forged knife was dropped and the tips broke off, only to find the "lifetime" warranty did not cover this damage. The fibrox handle is definitely the best I've used, wet or dry it allows firm control for 10 minutes or the grueling 12 hour shifts I often worked. This set has a good assortment of the most needed knives, I added a 10 inch bread knife and was good to go for most anything. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the forged stuff, it looks cool on TV but this stamped set of high quality steel is what you really want.

great knives - ugly packaging
I just bought these knives to give as a Christmas gift. Since I already own all of them, I know they are excellent knives and a great deal at [...] bucks (I paid $[...] for just the large chef knife 2 years ago) The 2 smaller knives are great for slicing small tomatoes, sandwiches, and general peeling and slicing (of all of them, the small serrated knife is the one I absolutely could not live without.) Anyway, the only problem I have is with the packaging. The Amazon box came with each knife in a cheap clear plastic sleeve and all of them wrapped together in brown craft paper. Not exactly gift ready. I had assumed that they would come packaged together as a set. I'm still giving it 5 stars because of the excellent value on quality knives.

Best Knives!
I was drawn to Victorinox knives because of the weight. At the office, I always found myself going back to the same knife. Turns out, it was because I loved the way it felt in my hand. It simply had the right weight and balance. The triangle shape of the blade was different and easy to spot amongst other knives. So I splurged and bought myself a set! Extremely happy with them. They are SUPER sharp, so be careful. I highly recommend them. My only disappointment was in the packaging. There was no information (care instructions, company history; that sort of thing), so I had to print it out from online.

Great Knives. Great value.
Bought this set for our cabin. We may buy a larger set of the same knives for our main home. They're very sharp. They hold an edge. And they quickly sharpen with the sharpening steel. The chef's knife felt light compared to the Wusthof Trident and the Chicago Cutlery knives I've been using for years, but it really is easier to use the lighter knife especially when chopping / cutting a lot of food. I'm a very happy customer.

Great knife set!
Love this knife set, most of them get used on a daily basis at my house. Didn't think I would use the bread knife, but I have found some uses for it. Surprisingly lightweight set, but don't let that deter you. These things can slice tomatoes paper thin with no effort and hold there edge great, I like to use the honing rod after each use, just one or two swipes to keep things extra sharp. Bought a magnetic bar for these and they look great hanging on the wall.
