Works well
Bought to use with a rounder I had already bought. Rounds sharp ends .

smooth wire ends in no time
This review will be pretty similar to my review for the smaller wire rounder burr from Beadalon because I bought the other one first, then realized it was for smaller gauges of wire, and went back and got this one too. I find they perform about the same.I am getting into wire work so I bought a Beadalon bracelet loom and I also bought a wire jig, and reading the instructions for these, I realized that I needed this item (and the corresponding battery operated bead reamer, which is also available on Amazon). The existence of this item actually solved a puzzle for me. I have been playing with wire for some time but I always had issues getting poked/scraped by the ends, no matter how nicely I tried to tuck them under other bits of my work. How nice to know there is an item designed to round the ends! This is easy to attach to the battery-operated bead reamer (sold separately). It doesn't come loose unless you want to remove it. It doesn't take long to smooth out the cut end(s) of the wire. The battery operated reamer is not exactly the most powerful device, but then again, this is a review of the burr rounder attachment and not the reamer. This is good for 16 gauge wire and smaller. I've been using it on bare, uncoated copper and it is fine for that. I tend to stick to this one for 16-18 gauge and use my other one for 20 gauge and smaller, as I feel the fit and effect are better if the attachment sizes match up.Anyway, this is convenient for making wire elements that don't poke you and so are more comfortable to wear. It is easy to use. Please note the discussion of wire sizes above and in the product description so you end up with an item that will work for you.

Beadalon Bead Reamer
I bought this reamer to use on polymer beads. I wanted to see if i could wait and put holes in the polymer clay after baking. I wanted to leave the decision of where I wanted hole placement for later after they were baked. Possibly I would not want holes in some beads but rather to use them making wire cages around them.I had read that this bead reamer was only for enlarging holes but I wasn't coming up with a suitable option so decided to purchase and give it a try. Surprisingly, I found I could drill through the baked beads after puncturing a slight indent in the bead. Without a slight puncture it flies out of your hands. I used the baking rack pins from an Amaco bead rack to puncture a small hole. I then used this bead reamer to go through the bead. The bead reamer did sometimes stop but I could easily get the bead off the point and start from the other side or keep working at it and get the bead reamer to work all the way through from one end. It does get stuck after getting through the other side of the clay bead, but that doesn't seem to be a problem as I haven't had a bead i could not remove from the drill tip and the hole made was usable to run wire through. The reamer when stuck stops when under pressure but I haven't found that to be too disturbing. I can reposition and get it going again. Viewed that isn't a bad trait and may be preventing overheating or drilling that isn't productive. A bit more power could be helpful to not get stuck as much. This reamer does work for what I wanted but I found it isn't time effective to wait and put the holes in my polymer clay beads after they are baked. I had thought if it doesn't work for that purpose I might try and return it but after having it for a few days I find that it is coming in handy. I did run into a few beads I had where the holes I had made weren't big enough for the 20 gauge wire I was using. This bead reamer fixed that issue easily. I am using it in a shallow tray of water but for less thick pieces of polymer clay, I think would work easily not dipping in water.Previously i had tried a small inexpensive dremel tool that had no speed adjustments, for bead reaming, but the power was too much and the bead would just fly out of my hand. The power in this bead reamer could be a little stronger, the reason for ranking it with four stars. I do like that it has a start stop push button. Only trick to that - is do not leave the batteries in and toss this in a drawer where the button might get pressed on. That happened to me after I first purchasing; i went to move things in the drawer and the reamer started going. I now take the batteries out of the reamer when I am not using it.

Great
Used it on a string of pearls I bought for the rosary I am making. The diameter of the hole the pearls came with were too small to work with, this reamer helped a lot and didn't do any damage/crack the pearls at all.

USED and DAMAGED
This item came without the attachment, without packaging. It was most definitely used and missing pieces. I'm angry I even have to waste time going to UPS to return it.

Great little tool
Don’t believe them when they say you need to use their battery operated tool. Just pop this into your favorite drill and it works like a charm.

Great once you figure out how to use it,
I had a bit of a problem understanding how it worked. However, when I did get it down, it is wonderful. I worked just like it said. It was even better than I expected!! Just be sure you understand that you have to put the foam in the metal piece before putting the metal piece in the bead reamer. That was my mistake at first. When I got that down, it worked like a dream when I followed the directions.I highly recommed this product.
