My prior caller, which I still have, was made in the mid 80s. Used by my father as a boy hunting birds on the farm. It ended up with me and I wanted to make sure to have a back up. Part of me doesn't like taking the other into the fields. This was close enough to matching and has the authentic feel of the call I grew up with. It is slim and could stand on a quarter. It sounds clear enough, though you have to blow a bit harder than my original, a minor fact to be sure. The wood on the mouthpiece side is good, smooth and finished well. The missing star comes from the fact that the other piece is rough to the touch. Feels like a light grade of sandpaper. Extremely light-I won't lie-I love this call. But it is worth noting that part of it is scratchy by comparison. 4/5

Don't waste your money. Fell apart the first time I blew on the barrel.

We got it for a birthday gift for a co-worked. They like it and said they'll enjoy using it.

This never worked. I bought it months ago for my sons Easter basket but should have checked it at the time. Return window is closed and it sounds like air through a straw.

I bought this cuz I liked the price but sometimes you gotta spend more money and this would be one of those cases. It doesn't work. The plastic in it won't move and when you blow in it it just sounds like air going through a big straw. Do not buy.

Does not work at all, the plastic bit does not move to make sound no matter what.

This call does work if you "spit" air through it rather than trying to blow
