Dream Hat
I was doubting this hat before I bought it because of some of the other reviews, but it is actually AMAZING! I got the 18cm brim and it is massive - think car tire. It arrived with 4 corners bent, but I’m not sure why everyone had trouble fixing this. I immediately, upon the hat’s arrival, took a spray bottle filled with water and sprayed the whole brim area of the hat on both sides - top and bottom - just until it was slightly moist to the touch. I then laid it on our washing machine flat with 4 textbooks on top of each bend in the brim. After about an hour and a half (maybe 2?), the hat dried completely and the bends were completely gone. Not even a crease was left. I placed the books back on for another few hours to be sure, and as of the next day it is PERFECT! The hat is stiff enough to keep its shape, but flexible enough that it will bend when laid down on an uneven surface. Love this hat and I’m buying all the other sizes now! I would love to paint some of these, in fact, and probably will! SIDE NOTE: I did find the huge size of the 18cm hat to be too much to tie at a side tilt, so it will simply be worn full on my head or to the back a bit. The smaller ones will probably be perfect for wearing at an angle as all the chic boater hat wearers do in their Sunday best, but not this one as it bends away from the head when worn sideways.

Hat came folded on 3 sides to the point it broke the straw. Poor packaging/shipping
Hat came folded on 3 sides to the point it broke the straw. Poor packaging/shipping, was shipping in a box not large enough to accommodate the hat being laid flat for shipping. Aside from the shipping damage, the hat is lovely for display purposes only as the crown is only 1-3" deep.

Great hat for its price; easily customizable
This hat is massive (roll of tape for reference), which I loved, but beware if you are going for something more dainty. I choose this hat because it was cheap and I knew I could customize it. The ribbon was easy to take out and I added a new one with the aid of a thin paintbrush. The default ribbon position sets the hat to be worn closer to the back of the head than the top.

Attractive wide-brimmed, straw hat!
My wide-brimmed hat, which I ordered with the 12 cm brim (almost 5 inches) and the black ribbon in January 2025, arrived perfectly intact and flat inside a protective, plastic bubble! Amazingly, after a long journey from China, my hat made it to me safe and sound. The pictures show the hat just as it appeared after I removed it from its protective, plastic bubble and placed it on my head. After the first photo, I folded the ribbon in half to make it look thinner because I wanted the crown to appear shallower. I measured the 12 cm brim hat and found its total diameter to be 17.5 inches, with a 7.5 inch diameter crown and 5 inch brim. The height of the crown is 2 inches. My head circumference is 22 inches, and the hat easily perches upon my head. I was seeking an inexpensive straw hat for my 18th Century Georgian Era outfit, and this straw hat will do quite well. I wish the company would make some straw hats with smaller crowns (6 inches wide) that only project upwards 1 inch, rather than 2 inches, because that would look more like the bergere straw hats popular in the late 1700s, but I am pleased with my new straw hat. I appreciate that the company must have looked at complaints about hats arriving crumpled and found a way to ship the hats in plastic bubbles so that they would arrive flat...no need to spray the hat with water mist and flatten under books! I chose the 12 cm brim hat because I wanted the hat to hold its shape rather than be floppy...and it is holding its shape just fine. I feel it is a cute and attractive hat! I am glad I purchased it....and I am thankful that people halfway around the world took their time and effort to weave, stitch, and mail the straw hat so that I can wear it.

Arrived damaged
Refund was issued: Shipping took a while; but Item arrived damaged and torn. It was not well-packaged (shipped in a large loose envelope). I suggest a box instead to avoid the hat getting bent/torn by the postal machines, as mine did. Otherwise, item seemed well constructed and true to photos.

Good for 18th century outfit
Purchased this hat to go with my outfit when we attend events for 18th century fife and drum. The top of the hat is a bit taller than authentic hats but I'm not going for 100% authentic. Brim came bent but just held it over the boiling tea kettle and softened the straw. Flattened it and put some books on it. Looks great! I added flowers and ribbon. Everyone loved it at our 4th of July event!

Unfortunately Not Recommended
This hat was rolled up in a bag and sent from creating undesirable creases and BREAKS in the straw of the hat. If it had been sent flat in a box it would be better. The ribbon looks like it can be replaced which is good because the quality is not good. I don’t recommend this hat.
