MLT Exam Flashcard Study System: MLT Test Practice Questions & Review for the Medical Laboratory Technician Examination (Cards)

These flashcards have helped me understand the many medical lab concepts I’ve learned in school. The cards are organized well by departments and are portable, which helps while studying on the go. I am glad I purchased these flashcards and believe they will be beneficial when taking the board exam.

I love the set up of this product. My only suggestion would be to maybe have the cards pre-ripped and separated into individual flashcards.

Flashcards should generally be durable, helpful, and correct. These cards were only one of three, and were only barely helpful for preparing for the MLT certification examination. I certainly would not call this a 5-star product.First complaint: Poor quality cardsThe cards come printed on flimsy, crudely-perforated cardstock. There is no protective lamination, either. The cards are black-and-white text only, despite the product image which shows example cards that are apparently multi-colored. Also, despite the MLT certification requiring visual identification of a wide variety of microscopic and macroscopic samples, no pictures were included.Second complaint: Not helpful and difficult to followMost of the cards would have a single cue on one side and a wall of text on the other. I can get this same effect from reading a textbook that has been cut into little squares. Also, several of the cards had typos and formatting problems, making it hard to understand some of the tabulated answers. These cards look like they were put together by an intern over a weekend by grabbing random trivia from a handful of textbooks.Third complaint: Incorrect informationWorst of all, at least one of the cards had a series of irrelevant information combined with explicitly false information (a note for the author, respiratory alkalosis does NOT occur with a blood pH below 7.6). I should NEVER have to fact-check a published study guide - EVER. If one card is wrong, how can I trust the rest? If I have to correlate each card with my textbooks, then why don't I just make my own cards?I am absolutely livid that this product is published as a helpful aid for MLT students. I strongly suggest that anyone who wishes to study for the MLT certification exam avoid this product. At a similar cost, you can use the basic Exam Simulator at LabCE.com which has pictures, a better setup for review questions, and tests how you're progressing (mobile access is buggy, so just stick with the basic Exam Simulator).

I bought these as a gift for a friend who is taking the exam later this year. I guess I expected flashcards and a guide. What I received when I opened the USPS packaging was some 8 1/2 X 11 perforated pages that will break down into small "cards". There is a printed page, as seen in the picture of this system, which has directions for moving the cards from one box to another as you review the questions. The writing is very small and the suggested box to use is a shoebox. The cards would get totally lost in a shoebox. What really worries me most though is that the pages were loose in the package. No shrink wrap, no glued edge, nothing just loose pages with the one cover page. I have no idea if all the cards are there or even if all the pages are there to break down into cards. No where can I find any notation as to how many cards are in the "system". I sincerely hope that the next person to order gets a price break because I really expected more in a product advertised as a "Study System"

I like the flashstudy system , because its easy and so realiable, you study alot of things in short period of time

The cards are nice and large enough to write own notes on for additional information regarding the question. They are also very comprehensive and cover a lot of the bases you will need to know and understand for the test.
