Arosis Organic Dry Greek Giant Beans - 14 oz

It is difficult to find large, white, "meaty" beans. These beans taste great plain, or to whip up with Italian seasonings and cheese - for stuffed manicotti. Maybe all those negative reviews just don't know how beans are suppose to be. I have been eating beans my whole life, and on a scale of one to ten I would rate these at least a solid nine. If you are looking for something other than lima or cannellini beans you should give these a try. They are versatile and delicious!

I've ordered these beans several times and never disappointed. Yes, they look dried and wrinkled but during the cooking process that appearance dissipates and they develop and wonderful texture and flavor. A bit pricey but worth it.

Excellent flavor profile. The recipe on the package was authentically Greek as enjoyed in a fine restaurant. I also prepared a blended, creamy soup with remaining (pkg recipe) which resulted in a wonderfully flavorful soup. A definite great find!

During rinsing, discovered fully half of this order of dried beans was stale - I know how to sort beans, out of the bag half were wrinkled and broken in half, when wet, the skins popped and shriveled, they floated, were broken, and/or didn't plump when soaked so had to sort through again and toss in the trash. The remaining beans cooked well, tasted delicious as they should, but what a waste! Won't buy this brand again.

Best fava beans I ever had! However, for 1 pot of soup…. Too expensive

Love these giant beans! I make a great Greek bean dish with feta, spinach, tomatoes and other ingredients. Delicious. I am not Greek , so it may not be totally authentic, but my whole family and my friends love the dish and request it as my pot luck contribution. It takes a few days for soaking and cooking and is better day after at room temperature so I make it ahead.

Bought these to add to my chicken veggie soup. I soaked them overnight (as directed) added them to my soup and let simmer over an hour and they are still not cooked through. I know they are huge beans bit daaaang maybe next time I will overnight soak and than pre cook the beans for an hour and than add them or presoak for a week lol edit: tried again soaking the bean I just decided they are really old. I am a regular at sprouting seeds and beans to eat fresh sprouted greens and these beans just don't seem right. I don't care how big they are they should still soak like any other fresh dried beans. Skip these, they are mummified LOL!

Do yourself a favor and quit buying boxed brands (Jack's), it's hit and miss with premade products. Do yourself a favor and make it from scratch, these beans are amazing. I will add that they are a little overpriced, you can find them much cheaper on other sites.
