IRWIN IRWIN Tools 1877791 Black Oxide Countersink Drill Bit, 5-Piece Set

I have Erwin cutting tools that I’ve used for years and was able to re-sharpen and reuse. So when I saw the deal on Amazon, I jumped at it. These were made in China, but it appeared to have the same quality and performance that I was used to with the Irwin products made in the United States. That’s not saying they’re going to be the same and hold up as well, but I noticed the quality was there and the sharpness also was there. When I used them, they performed well to so it appears even though they’re made in China they have standards set by Irwin like what the products are made in the US so far so good

I have used an Irwin 5/8" countersink like the one in this set for 30 years. It has held up well. I wanted a set with various sizes, and appreciate that the quality seems the same as the one I purchased 30 years ago. I wish that this came in a plastic storage container to keep these organized. As shown in my photo, it comes in a sealed plastic clamshell package that I did cut open on three sides to use as for storing the 5-piece set. The clamshell would work nicely for this if it weren't heat-sealed on all the edges, but it's hard to retain the snap-together functionality of the clamshell when most of the sealed edge has to be cut away. Overall, a nice quality Counterink Bit set that will last a long time. After I ordered this set, I realized that there is another version available that come in a plastic storage case. Consider that version if the storage case would be useful.

Im using it on light weight material and works for me

Great countersinks - they do just what they are advertised to do quickly, smoothly, and with no unevenness or chipping rough edges.

So far so good, only have used them on aluminum and plastic so far.

I have used only two of the Counter Sinks so far but they are sharp and work flawlessly ! They are what I have come to expect from IRWIN. PROS: Well made. High Quality. Sharp as expected. CONS: None Overall: Nice tool set ! Work well on wood and plastic. 1 Year Update: Still Five Stars ! Still sharp, still cuts wood, plastics, soft metals (Aluminum/Copper) without any problems. Don't have to touch up the holes after Countersinking. Biggest thing is to go slow, allow the Countersink to do the work. Nice set of tools !
