To note: I have only used this product to check the dryness/wetness of my indoor, including succulent, plants.I received the item three days ago and in time for my Spring repotting/planting therapeutic fun days. The product was easy to use and good at gauging whether watering was required. I know some people dip their fingers or chopsticks into the plant or can use the weight of the pot to do the same. I am not knowledgeable or confident enough to use these skills at this particular moment. This product, which I hope will last for infinity, appears to be a good substitute for the skills mentioned above.

This is ideal if you want just a basic reading.The item is also very responsive when measuring.The quality is good it’s what you would expect for this price range.Personally if you want a really accurate reading, because your investment depends on it!I would not recommend this item I would “say go for the digital solution”But if like me in this case you only need a basic reading then this is certainly for you it’s perfect for basic requirements.

I have a curry leaf plant which apparently must not be over watered so I thought this would be a useful gadget. I had no idea about these things so hoped it was small enough to be left in the pot, but it is quite large and must be inserted each time. I'm not sure how much my plant likes having it's roots penetrated frequently, but maybe it is less than being too wet. I am pleased i bought it because apparently the compost was too wet o several occasions.

I got this for monitoring soil moisture levels. It was working OK but within a couple of weeks the probe snapped. I've splinted it and it's still working fine but it's a bit disappointing it's not more robust. Some of our soil is quite firm but I would have still expected it to last a bit longer.

Moisture is useful, it's all i use it for and this works well.PH is the same for all my plants, so i don't find this particularly useful.I find the light reading inaccurate (it reads dark even if i place it beside a full wall of floor-ceiling glass).

Its hard to say if your plants are getting enough water, light or Ph level but with this it makes it easy. No battery's needed, just stick it in the ground and away it goes. One issue I've seen is that condensation can build up on the inside the the screen, which makes reading the values a bit tricky, but it will evaporate eventually.

The moisture/dampness level seems to give realistic results. Not sure about the light meter accuracy but it does tell me what I didn’t know before – it’s darker indoors than it is outside in bright sun:-)The pH readings seem to be meaningless. I live in an area where rhododendrons thrive – acid soil. Yet everywhere I test suggests strongly alkaline ???

Bright clear display but have to push buttons quite hard to turn on but are used to it now
