Q: Hello Goodmorning , I was just wondering can these be used with clay ?

It would depend on the type of clay. They can be used with air-dry clay, but if you use polymer clay that needs to be baked on low heat, like I do, then I recommend you buy glass eyes instead. I’ve been using glass eyes I bought off Amazon for all my projects. They have flat backs and adhere to the clay during baking with no issues.

Q: Can not get eyes to go together

I have had 2 boxes of these. The backs were too big and wouldn't lock... didn't matter what direction I tried to snap them on, or what combination of eyes/nose/backs I used. I've used a lot of safety eyes in the past, so I know what I'm doing. The 2nd set was a replacement/exchange and that box was missing a full set of eyes in one of the box compartments. I'm returning both sets for a refund.

Q: Please explain how to attach the eyes. I don’t understand how they attach with the gasket.

The back just slips over the peg of the eye being used. Attach the back with the domed side to the back of the eye. Push it down until it slips over the ridges on the peg to secure it.

Q: Are they only for crochet or fabric?

I use them for crochet, but I think you can use them in fabric too.
