Works well when paired with a COROS watch
I've been using the COROS POD for several months and find it very useful in helping me understand problems with my running style: usually putting too much effort into vertical motion than going forwards, particularly because I have a relatively short stride. It's also interesting to see the amount of ground time I spend on each step, as well as the balance of my left and right feet. What would be more helpful is if the app provided insights into how to improve poor performance. My experience has been completely different from Dani B, who says the phone app needs to be running all the time and that it drains the battery within a few hours. I have a COROS APEX watch that's paired with the POD, so there's no need to have the phone app running while out for a run. In fact, for the first couple of months I didn't carry my phone with me when running. The POD data is automatically transferred to the watch when saving the workout, and you can upload everything to the app later. I've now started carrying my phone with me for safety reasons; but there's still no need for the app to be running while working out. Consequently, no unusual battery drain.GPS tracking is done on the COROS APEX watch and seems to be fairly accurate. I've had a problem only once when I must have had a dodgy satellite connection.I don't normally run more than 12K and have never noticed any chafing.

extra insight!
have recently bought the pod to assist with gait retraining after a traumatic injury to left leg. It gave me all the insight to start correcting my imbalanes between left and right legs. simple metrics that go a long way to analysing and improving my walking and running lower limb mechanics. It is supprisingly easy to use and will communicate with your coros watch or the app on your phone. Not neccesary to have the watch - works as a standalone with the app.worth every bit spent on this device....wonderful addition!

Data Galore
It’s incredible the amount of data this device and the Coros Pace 2 provides. As a distance runner, I find the additional data this device provides is great information and gives me useful feedback on my running form.
