My favourite cookbook
I bought this over 10 years ago, and it is still my favorite cookbook. I particularly love the kitchari recipes, I've made the pitta kitchari recipe for nearly everyone I know. This book covers the basics for how to follow an ayurvedic way when it comes to cooking, and I would say it's relatively traditional (as compared to some more new age ayurveda cookbooks I've come across lately), which I really appreciate. The recipes are easy to follow and offer a range of meals, dishes, soups, drinks, teas etc. Highly recommend!

really great
Over the past two years I have been a human sponge when it comes to ayurveda. This book is great. Some of the items I cannot find locally. However, it does make suggestions for most herbs that can be substituted. The receipts are easy to follow and make. The concept of using specific herbs with specific foods is very interesting. I totally enjoy cooking and eating using this method. I would say this is a must for a personal ayurvedic library and a must have for interesting meals for family and guest. As I read through the book I got the feeling I was standing in the kitchen with the author and having a conversation rather than just reading how to directions.

Exceeded my expectations
This book is a must have for anyone serious about ayurvedic cooking. This book come from extremely knowledgeable people.( for Western people, possibly the most important pioneers of ayurveda. Read Dr Vasant other books, and you will understand what I am saying.) This book is just filled with information. Not only does she give charts on food qualities. After each recipe, she tells you a little bit about the main ingredient. There is also a remedy section, where she goes into details about most fruits and spices. Did I mention that the recipes are supper tasty. Food that is a pleasure too chew a little bit longer. Most of her recipes are also tri-doshic, with little tips throughout the book. Overall I can't recommend this book enough.

No Pictures!
Very informational. I would have given it five stars if it had pictures. Another great feature would have been what could be substituted for items that cannot be found or else where it would be possible to attain them. I would buy this book again simply because of the educational value. Very well written!

Difficult to implement
I am a big fan of Ayurvedic medicine and particularly of Dr Vasant Lad and I was excited to read his wife’s cooking secrets. I was disappointed because apart from 2 or 3 recipes, the rest have ingredients difficult to find and even the writing feels like in the 80’s. There s no modern twist, very traditional. I am sure it s an excellent book health wise but without photos and due to basic dull layout it is not catching my attention.

100% recomendado!
The media could not be loaded. Mucho más que un recetario, en el se explica el procesos digestivo y como encontrar balance en el cuerpo de acuerdo a la alimentación específica para cada tipo de dosha y estación del año, es una joya

This book is great for helping me learn how to cook the Ayurvedic way. I’m grateful for all the study and experience that has been put into it. Thank you.
