Just like Starbucks!
I love Starbuck's sous vide egg bites so much but the $5+ price means I can't afford it regularly. I saw this when I was googling for a cheat recipe. I decided to give this appliance a try because eggs are so unpredictable and I thought a unit like this would be better than some elaborate work arounds doing it another way. I just made my first egg bites and they are amazing and delicious, possibly even better than Starbucks. It could not be easier to use. There's a cheat sheet that comes with it, plus some more details inside the manual. The only thing I wasn't sure about is how to put the lid on it for cooking. But you need to align the cover so the whole thing is sealed because steam is a big part of how this cooks.I made some rookie mistakes with it.. I decided to make the suggested recipes. First mistake was using 2 eggs instead of one, not measuring the cream or cheese. With those errors I had leftover egg mixture but they came out so well, I don't mind sacrificing part of an egg, and it still all came out great.Useful things to know rather than fry bacon, buy pre-cooked bacon, microwave them about 15 seconds so they are a bit crispy or use bacon bits (not the fake crunchy kind, the real bits made by Hormel). I recommend that especially if you're rushing to get your bites made. I used a Mexican cheese blend because I had that on hand. I recommend whatever cheese you use that it be finely shredded and not just regular shredded size. This is so the cheese doesn't sink to the bottom. There also is no alert beep when the eggs are done, as many people have noted, so I set my timer for 7 minutes but it took more like 8 1/2 - 9 minutes to be done. I let it rest for about a minute after I removed the eggs from the cooker. I did as they said and inverted them onto the plate. I literally squealed when I flipped them over and they looked exactly like Starbucks. They turned out so soft and creamy, the bacon and cheese is salty enough that you don't need to add any extra salt (don't put salt in before cooking, it makes the eggs tough). I am going to invest it some gruyere cheese since that is what Starbucks uses and I'll have to grate that at home which will add some prep time but not much. Your local store may actually sell shredded gruyere for fondue (especially with the holidays coming up) and that would be super easy and cheapter. Trader Joe's might also have shredded gruyere as well.Overall, this is not an appliance that I'm going to stuff into the bottom of a cabinet. I really like eggs and this was so easy to make quickly, and cost a fraction of what Starbucks charges. This machine will pay for itself with 3 more uses and I will be using it probably quite a lot going forward. This is one of the best things I've ever bought on Amazon.

Close enough to Starbucks that I am happy and saving money!
I love Starbucks mushroom egg bites and being on a high protein diet they are my best breakfast. But so expensive. I bought this a couple weeks ago and have used it quite a few times. Its easy to use and easy to clean.I mix up one egg, almost 1/4 cup of Friendship California Style Cottage Cheese - I just scoop some out so probably just under 1/4 cup, a bit of cheddar or whatever cheese I have on hand, some dried chives and a little bit of Bob's Big Boy Seasoning egg/breakfast seasoning. I don't use a blender - just my fork to mash the cottage cheese. That mixture is split between the two bites. The Friendship California style cottage cheese is less watery than many so not sure how it would turn out with another cottage cheese - I refuse to buy the watery cottage cheese that is so common here in the Northeast USA.I have experimented with how much water to put in and use between 80-90ml. I have found that one big key to me liking my egg bites is to use paper towels afterwards to remove some of the water. If I don't do that they taste watery. I turn them on both sides on the paper towel and try to get as much water off as possible. They are not egg bites that I can hold with my hand like starbucks are. They are cooked but just not as solid. That said I do think if I would let them sit and cool awhile after cooking they might become more formed - kind of like a cookie that once it cools is more solid. I haven't tried because I'm just ready to eat and they taste great as they are.Overall I'm extremely happy. I will still get my Starbucks egg bites every now and then - but mine are just as good and I haven't even started experimenting with other add ins or other types of cheese like gouda!

Makes great egg bites!
This product worked great out of the box. I can now make them anytime I want using my own food. I made these with the following measurements:2 large eggs2 teaspoons of milk (I only had almond milk, but it was fine)2 tablespoons of grated cheese1 pieces of cooked bacon, choppedThe only adjustment I made was in the amount of water to place in the bottom of the cooker - I used 90 ml.You do need to stay in the kitchen and watch the lights on the front as the product doesn't have a bell or noise-maker to alert you when it's finished. I also followed another suggestion and placed it near my stovetop and turned on the vent hood as it produces a lot of steam as the water boils away. If you have a larger kitchen, this might not be an issue for you.I took off 1 star as the cooker needs some sort of noise or bell to indicate when the eggs are cooked.

It takes a few times to know how much water to add to appliance to get the perfect egg to one's liking. Easy to clean and works in minutes.

Easy-to-use
I love everything about this product! Extremely easy to use and the clean up is super easy. Like the other comments mentioned where the water goes there will be a build up of deposits but no biggie. I can use one egg and get two egg bites. You can virtually put anything in it. Just don't overfill. For sure a ding to let you know the eggs are done would be appreciated. I have left the eggs in after the light went off and no issue. Egg was a bit firmer and still tasted amazing. This machine has so many options for add ins to the eggs. I usually pour the eggs in first then add my ingredients. This machine is a must for any egg bite eater. Takes less then ten minutes. Clean up is amazingly easy!!
