and this book was a great addition to my Austin itinerary research
Traveled to Austin this past month, and this book was a great addition to my Austin itinerary research. It is a pretty simple, not overly wordy list of interesting, quirky, unique things to try out or explore in Austin. It's divided into categories so that you can focus in on what you're interested in, and bookmark whatever appeals to you. Most guidebooks are super dense and hard to get through, but this book was a concise and offered a great variety of options - food, arts, sports, entertainment, etc. Left it at our Air BnB so that other travelers can utilize it after us!

like eating goodies from food trucks
I lived in Austin in the late 70s and early 80s and still visit When I can. According to Kristy Owen, I'm about half ready to die. Some of the "must do" activities are long-time traditions, and some, like eating goodies from food trucks, are new. I would add a few, including viewing the Guttenberg Bible at the Harry Ransom Museum. I would also list fewer dining experiences, as restaurants change in quality or close down all together. However, the book offers a good starting list of the many adventures Austin offers.

Living, Moving or, Visiting it's a must.
If you live in Austin, moving to Austin or, visiting Austin I highly recommend this! I visited for a week and because of this book I had a blast and felt like a local. (Highly recommend the Midnight Cowboy, so awesome!) Having a knowledge of Austin before I visited, there is some places I might add to the book, but none the less, I'm moving there soon and hope to check all 100 things off!

Helpful in planing a visit to Austin
Definitely gave me some good ideas. A few places mentioned are no longer open, so it needs an update. I would still recommend it.

Informative & Encompassing!
I got this book for my son who lives in Austin. He immediately started going through it checking off things he's already done. Now he's prioritizing what he has yet to do! Great book!

Insightful
A succinctly written insight into both the touristic and more quirky sights that Austin has to offer, written by an Austin resident. If you are looking for details and maps, this book is not for you - if you are looking for ideas, inspiration and individual ideas, it is. An easy and insightful read. In conjunction with a fuller guide book / tourist map (or first hand knowledge of the town).
