[Pack of 1] [Product of Japan] Youki Sichuan Doubanjiang 四川豆板醤 / Toban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce) - 1000 Gram / 2.2 Pound Family Size Jar

I don't have much experience with Tobanjan, but like this one very much. The price is good, too. Since one puts chili oil in as well, the spice level works for us.

This is my all time favorite spice and I am so glad Amazon has it.

This is my first Toban Djan purchase. I do not know how authentic it is, but I like it. I am using it for almost everything now when I want to make the dish hot and spicy.

This product is a too good deal compared to the smaller sized(130g), but the quality doesn't seem same. Not as spicy and I used twice as amount to satisfy my taste.

Initially I was pleased to find this in a large size jar. It only took a couple times of using the product to realize that this is not the same thing that I’ve been buying from local Japanese grocery for years. This product is chunky, product from Japan is smooth. This product has pieces of white colored solid things in it, maybe onions, I don’t know. The few times I used it I always wound up with significant stomach issues. It’s fake! Probably from China. Says right there on the jar”product of Japan “ it’s not the real thing.

Flavor is exactly as I remember when I purchased this product while working in Japan years ago. This size jar is hard to find at such a good price.
