Incredibly sharp, brilliant colors, and a very high quality design.
To compliment my new mid/high end PC build, I chose this new offering from ViewSonic purely from the posted specifications and their reputation from 15 years ago for building long lasting good quality monitors. The PC sees general home internet use, with gaming and some light photo/video editing (I'm a novice). I'm very happy. Now, I'm coming from a very low end 1080P acer 12 year old monitor so this ViewSonic is obviously heaps improved. There are no dead pixels, the glare shields and cable management work as designed, height adjustment is ridiculously easy, and the picture blows me away. Youtube videos in 1440P are a completely difference experience now. Games play great though I'm not a serious gamer so can't give an experts opinion. Backlight bleed isn't an issue for me. It's there I guess but I'm not looking at a black screen long enough for it to be an problem. The RGB lighting was turned off in the beginning and has never been missed. It didn't bother me when it was turned on though. It's more background ambient light. I use powered speakers so the speakers included are turned off however they were adequate when initially powered up. For my needs, this monitor is exactly what I wanted and I'm perfectly satisfied.

Love this monitor but this is the second one I got.
Amazing monitor. The PureXP+ is the best way to get ghosting free and accurate controls. I'm a competitive Street Fighter player and the PureXP+ along overclocking is almost there in comparison to a CRT monitor. The sRGB preset is the same as my Macbook Pro in both color, pixel density and quality of the screen so this could be used for work involving color accuracy (photoshot, etc). There isnt any input lag playing both FPS and fighting games that I can notice (30+ years playing fighting games in CRT, LCD, projectors, VA, IPS, etc). There are 2 presets where I have it one for gaming and another for color accuracy and work fine. If the 4k was cheaper I wouldve got that one. The video is from the first monitor I got. After a couple weeks of use it got that bar of flickering pixels which after searching the net and asking a few people they all suggested to exchange. The exchange process with Amazon was a pain since the CSR Mabel is really the CSR from hell. Good thing the escalation I asked for 10 minutes got thru and a lead CSR helped me with the return process. I suggest Amazon to return to the old prepaid label with everything in it because the UPS QR isnt accepted anywhere here. I'm raising awareness to return to the old method since the worst part of my experience (getting a dud of a tech product isnt rare) but hauling the thing back and forth and then getting an absolutely awful CSR just got me wary of buying more stuff here and going thru the same problem again.

SO FAST, SO CLEAN, FPS MUST HAVE
I am a very serious FPS gamer and a bit of a PC fanatic. I have always been a big Samsung panel guy and have never been pulled away from their monitors or TV's since they got into the game, until now. I was all set to buy a G7 Odyssey until I saw on blur busters that the viewsonic Elite XG270 was the first monitor to have it's PureXp blur reduction certified by them. I also saw that it was a sub 1ms GTG IPS panel. I have always loved IPS vs. TN for it's color accuracy and deep blacks but I wanted nothing less than 240hz refresh and that was not an option I had found from a brand I trusted. I must say ViewSonic does not disappoint. This thing is AMAZING. It is so fast, so clean and in FPS games with my 2080ti pumping out 300 frames it is smooth as butter. G-Sync is a must and when I lock it in at 240hz it is literally perfection. No artifacts, no ghost from OD, just clean and clear speed. Not to mention is was less expensive. I personally like 1920x1080 for FPS gaming because it is easier for your card to drive at high frame rates over the 2k or 4k monitors. If you want more screen real estate then go for their 1440p version for a few hundred bucks more. 165hz is nothing to be ashamed of BUT if you want the absolute butter of 240hz in game this is the way to go. A couple of things to note that I figured out. 1. If you want to use purexp then you cannot turn on G-sync. I personally cannot tell between the two and I have obsessed over it so I keep G-sync on. 2. you can over clock this to 241 hz at 8-bit color but I cannot tell so I leave it at 240 10-bit. 3. You can use your graphics card to over drive this to 2560x1440 @ 165hz and it works just fine, but the text is a little blurry so you have to adjust your clear type settings and even then it is not as good as native 1440p. All in all I am REALLY happy with this monitor and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in the market for a gaming monitor.

For Gaming and Productivity
Awesome monitor. I'm coming from a 1080p, 144hz display and wanted something better. I wanted more screen real estate, better image quality and more pixels without sacrificing on response time for my competitive gaming needs. For a while there were pretty much two options: gamers who went with TN panels, and then picture quality enthusiasts who went with IPS. Now, enter nano-IPS. Great image quality without sacrificing response time. I play fast paced games like Overwatch, Rocket League and the new Modern Warfare and haven't noticed any difference regarding input lag/response time relative to my 24" 144hz TN display. If anything I've noticed faster responses, possibly due to 165hz. Image quality is great. I'm not a photo editor or anything but I can say the picture is superb. Playing games like the Witcher 3 and Overwatch is beautiful with it, and the colors are more vibrant than ever with excellent viewing angles. I will be the first to admit the contrast leaves much to be desired, but that is to be expected with almost any IPS display. After a few tweaking of the on-screen display settings like increasing dark boost to level 3 and turning on contrast mode, I had Doom 2016 looking full and vibrant even in darker scenes. It is a bit on the pricier side, but keep in mind the importance of a good monitor. It is something you'll be looking at for several hours a day. You don't want to cheap out on it. For reference I have a gtx 1070 and ryzen 1600 @ 3.7

exactly what it says it is, overpriced listing, good entry gaming monitor
Not sure if this is direct feedback on the seller, or on the product, ill copy and paste it on product if so. This monitor is good quality for its price, i will say you can find the same monitor on Best Buy for almost $100 less and cheaper than this listing just about anywhere except amazon(when its in stock). Even with that being said im quite pleased with this monitor, this is perfect for FPS gamers with its great color and response time without reaaaly breaking your wallet, with that being said if you are reading this before purchasing, trying to find your first monitor, i will definitely recommend this, keep in mind this is a 1080p monitor (which is perfect for fps games) but remember when youre using it for web browsing or watching a movie or anything other than gaming, its going to be 1080p and sub par graphics quality, most people will understand this without it being said but newcomers looking for a first rig, please read that as many times as is needed before making your decision and think if thats what you really want. The stand and monitor itself are well made and THICC, it will not move around without you making it do so. The stand can be taken off and it can be mounted with a mount of your choice that fits it(didnt measure the mount spec size) I took a star off because setting this monitor up to look even decent within its settings was a lot of unnecessary stress (i have never in my life had to fight with such back and forth of every little notch to making a monitor look viable) and would be very confusing and frustrating to a new user who has never even considered there are color profiles and such settings you have to manually adjust, just looked horrendous at first, but now that ive dialed it in to look okay the colors POP in the ways game developers intend them to.

Fantastic, high quality gaming monitor - exceptional blur control - closest to CRT I've ever seen
I replaced an older 1440p 27" 60hz with the XG270, and I'm extremely impressed and pleased with my purchase. My first flat panel years (and years) ago was a ViewSonic and it replaced a ViewSonic P227 21" CRT monitor I had for years prior to that - my history with ViewSonic goes back a long way, and opening the box brought back a lot of great memories. The build quality is excellent, fit and finish is solid throughout, and design and ergonomics (location of buttons / cables / etc.) are well engineered. It looks fantastic on my desk and I grin every time I see it. Performance wise, it is astonishing. I followed the Blur Buster recommendations (which makes sense, since they worked with ViewSonic to tune and certify this as the first and currently only "Blur Buster Certified" gaming monitor) and dialed in, the motion control is CRT-like (and other reviews echo this observation). It was very well calibrated for color out of the box, and looks fantastic in all the games I play - crisp image quality, fantastic motion blur control, nice and bright with solid contrast - what's not to love? Without reservation, I highly, highly recommend this monitor! WELL DONE, VIEWSONIC!

(Almost) everything I could want
High refresh rate, QHD Resolution, suuuuper bright, and deep blacks. I honestly don't know why more manufactures don't make high-refresh high-resolution VA monitors. The reduced viewing angles and slightly worse color accuracy compared to IPS are a fine tradeoff to me in exchange for those beautiful deep blacks and bright contrast. If that's what you want, this is a great monitor! don't plan on doing any color grading work on it though. What are my complaints? Well, unfortunately, (at the time of writing this) this monitor isn't certified G-sync compatible, even though it does have freesync premium pro. That's a bit of a downer if you intend to game on this with an Nvidia GPU. Another issue is honestly the monitor stand. Don't get me wrong, It has great build quality; It's almost entirely metal, very heavy, and very stable. BUT, it is kinda excessively large and awkward. From the frontside of the center of the screen to the back of the base is roughly 11.5 inches. for the edges, it's about 13.5 inches. This means that if you are using the included stand, it is going to stick out over a foot from whatever wall or desk edge that you want to put it up against, making it take up a huge amount of real estate. The feet of the base stick out even further than this, easily 15 inches from the back end. Sooo, just slap a VESA display mounting bracket on it.

It's overall a great monitor for the price
I felt I needed a new monitor after playing games on a 60hz monitor for a very long time. I decided on this one after looking at all the reviews on here and on the internet, seemed like a decent monitor. It definitely is a decent monitor! It's bright and very clear, sometimes too bright so I turn up the blue light filter. I play Modern Warfare on it and it looks and plays great on it. The only problem I had was that GSYNC wasn't working correctly when enabled, my screen would go black for 1 to 2 seconds in games and reinstalling my drivers didn't help. I had to turn off GSYNC in the Nvidia control panel, go to manage 3D settings, turn vertical sync to adaptive, then I turned back on GSYNC. I haven't had a black screen since. Also, you won't get actual 1ms unless you make it so in the overdrive options in the monitors OSD. EDIT Sep 2022 - Still a great monitor now paired with a 3080! Just bought another one since I see they're below $200 now.
