We gave the MasterPieces 4-Pack 100 Piece CAT Construction Caterpillar Jigsaw Puzzle Set to our special-needs son for Christmas. Assembled size of each of the four puzzles in the set is about 8"x10", and each scene is bright and interesting, with a lot of good construction equipment and materials on display, which can lead to a learning opportunity for kids. The pieces are thin and about the size of those found in adult puzzles but they are nicely made, have a smooth surface, and interlock well, plus they’re even made of recycled material..On the negative side, the photos on the box are quite small (about 3-5/16” wide x 2-1/4” tall) so some children may have trouble relating the tiny photos to the final size. Since my son was one of those, I took two steps to help. First, I assembled each puzzle in advance and scanned the image to be able to print an 8”x10” photo for him to use rather than the tiny photos on the box..Most kids won’t need the second step but those with special needs children might find it handy. I used a piece of 1/8” thick tempered hardboard to create an 8-1/16” x 10-1/16” puzzle assembly frame and glued it to the face of another piece of the same material. This gives him some boundaries similar to those used by puzzles for younger kids and allows him to better relate the size with the larger number of smaller pieces. A couple of pieces of thicker cardboard (not corrugated) could serve a similar purpose..Overall, the MasterPieces 4-Pack 100 Piece CAT Construction Caterpillar Jigsaw Puzzle Set is a good value for the money and I rate it 4* (due to the small photos) and a recommended buy for kids.

I thought the pieces would be bigger than they were. My grandson loves the puzzles. Great price for 4 puzzles.

My son loves this puzzle, but the pieces are smaller than I expected. It will be perfect for when he’s a little older. The pictures are great quality for any construction lover!

This is a fun puzzle set for my vehicle lover. Note that the puzzles and pieces are on the small side. Reason for 3 stars is 1) there are no pictures included with the puzzles for reference as you assemble, only the small image on the front of the box. A larger reference picture inside would be helpful for young learners. 2) the puzzles are packaged within the outer box in single-use bags. Resealable bags would be helpful for keeping the pieces together after first use. 3) puzzle pieces are on the thin side. The product price felt high given these three shortcomings.

My 5 yo grandson was over the moon with his construction puzzle. He dedicated two days to putting the four together, and was quite please with himself.

My son is three and LOVES puzzles and anything construction so these were a win. 100 pieces is still a little too challenging for him to do alone so we currently do these puzzles together. The overall size of the completed puzzle is on the smaller side but my son is happy with them so that’s all that matters to me.
